I've used paperclips for years...

Paperclips and a rubber band were the weapon of choice when I was at school (and before H&S ruined all the fun) .. 👍

A number of our teachers tended to favour chalk and the board rubber. Mr Fairhurst our chemistry teacher and deputy head weapon of choice was a metre rule. Mr tomes geography had a very unique way of dealing with really disruptive ones. He use to grab them by the elbow and held them in a sort of Vulcan nerve pinch. Can see my mate now going week and the knees squirming on the floor before he'd let go. I have to say both him and Mr Fairhurst really did care about the kids and went way over board to help anyone. Long before pastoral was different dept.

Good morning from Suffolk where it's one of those nothing sort of starts to the day - not really cloudy, not sunny, just 'meh'. Even the rain seems to have run out of enthusiasm while heading this way and has stayed out to the west.

Coffee has been had while catching up with the news and next up is a little bit of tidying up/weeding out front of the house. No plans for the afternoon as yet.

sorry for your family's loss. my Father's passing 3 years ago was far reaching. the story telling was a surprising highlight & immensely cathartic for everyone. thinking we should refer to some funerals as a commencement, meaning, now we must begin to live without

Wake was awkward when my father passed, for a few minutes, as we usually counted on my father for some stories and humor and usual wake goings-on. Somehow I pulled it together and served that function, and the duty passed to me.

Weeding and a bit of tidying up done out front. We've not had as much rain as elsewhere, but the ground is very soggy making it an easy job. Cutting back the lavender bushes and fuschias can wait until the spring.

Now having an instant hot chocolate from the stock I normally use on the away days as they have a use by (or best before as I prefer to think of it) of November 2025.

Bloody " Pastoral" what an excuse for all sorts of weird stuff. All too much for "old school" me.

Pucker up and get on with it.

Really appreciate that. :hugs:

Her suggestion is you change the dressing for something like softpore type dressing. (or any other cheep mepore type). As things sound to be healing well the heavy duty stuff can come off. Then just use the tubigrip to keep it clean when you need to out and about. Once the stitches come out things will settle it's mostly them that itching.

A pair of pesky parakeets perched on my bedroom windowsill this morning. One of them peeked into the open gap at the bottom to take a better look at my teeth brushing technique (I have this habit of wandering around the flat when I clean my teeth) so I bent down to see it eye to eye. They both then flew off. I hope they weren't looking for a nest - I'm not sure I'd sleep too well with a parakeet family in my bedroom.

Meanwhile, I appear to have bought 18 bottles of wine this morning. The Christmas juggernaut is slowly getting under way.
