Another four seasons in one day day. I got a thirty mile ride in, it was sunny with blue skies when I left, sunny with blue skies when I returned, but got drenched in between time, and it was pretty windy.

It's ages since I've been there but I remember that there were some stunning chronometer/timepieces/clocks in there. (I lived for 10 years with a balcony view of the time ball but I've still never seen it fall!)

Yes they are all still on display, just seeing John Harrison’s collection of clocks alone is something to behold a life times work to achieve perfection.

This could be an expensive away day. They're using wristbands for a band at the end of March that I wasn't aware of and would really like to see and could probably do if I compromise on the hotel and train travel. I'll do the figures when I get home on Monday.

It the Leeds Valentine's Fair and will be dismantled tomorrow morning.

Interesting. I started in 2005 to get rid of all the charts I needed to circumnavigate the UK. Or was it just Great Britain?
Over the years I suspect more money has definitely gone out rather than in

classic but there are open sections in the middle of the trails where you can have more freedom. some of the other skiers were skating around like little angels & butterflies. really delightful to watch them flitting about like birds. so fast & light on their feet!

- I'm not sure what they'll think of me using downtube shifters on a TT.

My aim? Not coming last.

- I'll be using my pink Raleigh 653 for the TT, as I've entered the 'steel frame' bike category.
- I'm not sure what they'll think of me using downtube shifters on a TT.

Downtube shifters do give you a crisper, more immediate shift, IMHO.
