Neither will make the slightest difference but some still seem to be pushing for it.
The 16 year old who was killed walking her dog will probably give them ammunition, even though the unfortunate girl was apparently using a pedestrian crossing when she was hit.

Did just that a few years ago, when they had a go at me for having neither helmet, Hi-Vis or daylight running lights in Nenagh. This in the middle of the afternoon on a dry summers day*Of course they would, but try telling that to the so-called Road Safety Authority.
We can't go upsetting drivers, so better create a smokescreen instead.
