Mine isn't

On paper it is, but there's stuff which needs looking at before tomorrow. And no, I don't get paid overtime.

We at least get time off in Lieu, in theory at least.

Just spent a few frustrating hours trying to type up several pages of scrappy notes. They looked like they'd been written by a gibbon and took some time to decipher and organise.

I'd send a sharply worded email to whichever idiot wrote them, but they're clearly my handwriting.

Out of bananas and the Lidl app vouchers to use up. For once they went together so no extended banana hunt necessary. Apples were either a touch expensive or cheap and nasty looking so a shop tomorrow needed.

Had a very interesting early afternoon wondering round the in side of Tower Bridge. Learning all about its construction though to learning about the lives of the once 60 staff inc cook. All overseen up till the 1970’s by a resident bridge cat. Who all before it was converted to electric kept the bridge running now it only needs 12 staff. Once you make it back down the 206 steps you then get to look round the old engine room with working stream engines. Another highlight is walking on the glass floor on the walk way looking right down onto the bridge deck. @Reynard the gift shop has a nice range of cat themed Tower Bridge gifts, all based on one of the former resident cats.

A fun fact when the bridge is out of action a bail of straw must be hung below the bridge deck. To alert boats coming down river the bridge is operating at height less than normal.

Home by 16:30 this afternoon and the first thing I did was make a coffee. The overnight bag was then unpacked, restocked as necessary and a fresh change of smalls added ready for Thursday's away day. As I'm also out for the day on Wednesday, I really should have Tuesday at home tidying up and doing domestics.

Still not decided about the away day at the end of March as it would be another quick turn round - I get back from Manchester on the Wednesday and the Leeds trip would be on the Friday.

Amazing how the usual commentators of FB can turn an article on the sad fact that 7 people were killed on the roads over the weekend into blaming cyclists and that speed cameras have made the roads more dangerous.

When will society realise that people need to take responsibility for their own driving instead of blaming someone else.

Two of those seven were in a single vehicle incident, that early reports indicate may have been due to a medical issue.
On a road with no speed cameras, at a time when very few cyclists would have been out.

It's been a mild but blustery day here chez Casa Reynard. A bright start but things gradually segued into greyness and then drizzle.

Did not sleep well, but that was down to female hormonal issues combined with a herd of heffalumps tap dancing on my midriff. The morning was spent doing all the usual chores. I also clipped Madam Boo's claws.

Then took advantage of the longer than expected dryness to do some bits in the garden. Trimmed / tidied up some downed branches that need turning into firewood. Did cut a couple of buckets of logs, but the rest is for another day. Should be a good couple of wheelbarrows worth of decent (and dry) logs.

After, popped out to Aldi as bread, milk and yoghurt was needed, and I wanted to get some bits for Madam Boo from their pet event. I had a snaccident with some tortilla chips, didn't buy anything from the middle aisle in the end as the scratch boards I wanted are actually too small. They're really only suitable for a kitten, not a five kilo plus tortie chonk. And I also picked up six jars of chocolate spread at 29p each in their clearance. I actually had chocolate spread on the Tesco shopping list, so that's a bonus.

Supper was a bitsas to use up as many of the leftovers as possible. So soup, haggis, loaded potato skins, fried onion and sweetcorn was had, finished off with a wedge of cinnamon bun. There's only two slices of haggis left now, so those will go for tomorrow's luncheon. And that's all the leftovers dealt with.

Oh dear, yet another van stuck under the Station Road bridge approaching Ely station. It's a rental (Sixt I think) so that'll cost the hirer. First one I've seen in person (from the train)

Barely a week goes by without a wallop there. And it's not like there's not any warnings and bright yellow height bar thingies and such.

@Reynard and anyone else who uses Clock Food * Face cream, which one do you use for sensitive skin? Does it have fruit acid in it, I presume not.

* My Father always referred to face cream as "Clock Food".

I don't put the stuff on my face, but I just use a very basic non-scented vaseline-based deep moisturiser from Lidl. It's one of the few I've found that doesn't make me scratch like a baboon.
