Well i am back from todays painting lark.I have to say it has been the best four hours painting.Everything went like a dream.I even repainted an entire wall, there were too many scuffed bits for my liking. It was the first place a visitor would see when they came in.Now i can start to gloss the door frames and arches Friday for that if i can find time i might do Thursday and Friday and get it finished.I am feeling so chuffed to bits.

I share a darkroom with a leftie. We are forever thinking that we've lost the tongs for the various tanks, then remembering to check the other side 😀
I have a fountain pen and a cartridge pen. I prefer the cartridge pen because it's easier to carry spare cartridges than spare ink.

The head of MI6 still sign papers in green ink and always simply with a C.
Due to the 1st head Captain Sir Mansfield George Smith-Cumming who had a habit of going it.
Which has stuck ever since C now taken to simply mean "Chief".

I was secretary of a branch of a political party and sometimes got letters written in green ink. Always good for a laugh at the clear insanity of those who did not like us or our views before binning them.

I love fountain pens, especially my Parker 45, but sadly, being left-handed, the results tend to be rather messy. I use ball-point out of the need to not get ink everywhere other than where it's needed.

Used to get into such trouble at school. We had to use a fountain pen, but I always smudged everything, so always had to go and see the teachers about my handwriting. If I switched to a fibre-tip to stop smudging my work, I'd get order marks (and then detentions) because I wasn't using a fountain pen. I couldn't bloody win, there...

Not sure fountain pens were even invented when I was at school. We used detachable nibs which got replaced when damaged.
Some of the more adventurous types did a primitive form of tattoo with the same nibs.

Without thinking, I purchased some chopsticks for myself and the grandkids as, at 70, I thought that I needed to learn how to use them. I think they send lefty ones as the food never quite reaches my mouth without ending up on the tablecloth because I'm a Righty!!

I'm also left-handed but, whether taught or improvised, I learnt to write with the hand below the line so I never had that problem. I was amazed when I saw all the weird and wonderful ways other lefties had come up with to write. Perhaps I had a sympathetic teacher who understood something about left-handedness but I really don't remember much from back then.

+1 from the sinister side. The non smudging side.
Never consciously created a writing technique. Couldn't insert how the other leftie in the group could make such a dog's breakfast of something as simple as writing.

Yeah, dip pens. I sometimes use them for artwork but don't really get on with them. Plus an open bottle of ink is not the best idea when you've got nosey cats... I prefer to use artists pens.

IIRC fountain pens have been around since the 1930s or so, as I have a few marbled bakelite jobbies that used to belong to my grandad Arthur.
