I liked metalwork and woodwork and not much else at school.

In particular, I hated PE, the domain of sadistic teachers and as someone with zero interest in team sports like football, a prime target for bullying.

In part I think it depends on the teacher. I hated woodwork and the teacher hated all academic types like me.
OTOH I liked the gym. I was useless at football but I could run well up to middle distance and was ok at any gymnastics and basketball was a speciality. As team leader my teams nearly always won.

Porridge for breakfast. Tesco chicken soup for lunch. MrsP is preparing beef stew for tonight’s meal ready to go in the slow cooker .

Bright sunny day again but wisps of high cloud. Cold at minus 3.6C overnight so had to put an extra cover on my bed.
Forecast shows this bright weather beginning to break tho' and sleet forecast and wide variations in temperature.
Slight diversion but I wonder if the cold makes the gear change in an Alfine hub sluggish? Never noticed any difference in the SA hubs I had but modern systems may be different.

Good morning all from an overly bright office - at some point yesterday they fitted new light panels and sunglasses are now required indoors.

In other news it's grey and raining yet again, but at least the first cuppa of the day was a good one, accompanied by a couple of flapjack bites left over from yet another office cake day yesterday.

I can't find my cafétière and yesterday I couldn't find my mum's one. Where can they have gone? I've had to borrow back an aeropress I left at my daughter's. This is so that my brother and nephew can have a decent coffee while they're staying in the guest room next to my mum.

Me neither. People would try and tell me that I should appreciate it because "School days are the happiest days of your life, you know" to which I'd say "You mean it gets worse after this?"

This upset people.

Some of the most miserable days of my life were spent at school.
