Half an hour into the really bad weather warning time and the light snow flurries that have been near constant all day have stopped.

When I learned cabinet making I discovered that woodwork is much more enjoyable if the saw actually cuts wood.

my 2nd job is cutting wood. the worst to cut is 3/4" pressure treated plywood. regularly changing the saw blade helps quite a bit

On the other hand, in my school basketball was a contact sport andO rugby was tribal warfare. All the sports teachers were pretty nasty too.

Ironically my son is about to become a teacher, his subjects are sports and Maths.

We never did rugby, only soccer but basketball was not bad perhaps because I was usually team captain. I once picked a team of apparent duds but they all had one strength which I welded into a winning team.
My best pal at Senior school turned into a PE teacher and then a gym instructor in the Royal Marines.

I remember you telling us about the basketball team. These concepts were a bit advanced for my fellow students, or for the teacher.

My teachers were wannabe Marines instructors.

Had a lovely luncheon of toasted sourdough bread, one slice with gammon & mustard, the other with sliced avocado, plus an apple, a pear and two :cuppa:

The cat litter has been decanted into the bin, the litter trays have been done, wood bins are topped up, ashes cleaned out, the soggy box from the Zooplus delivery has been cut up and shipped into the blue wheelie bin and then, after scrubbing my hands, I removed the remaining meat from the carcass of the chicken that I roasted the other night. It filled a fairly large plastic tub, more than enough to make a chicken & mushroom pie and still have some left for a couple of sandwiches. The carcass has been plopped into the stock pot with the other one, and they are now both simmering away merrily. That will go towards making some nice soup. :hungry:

Madam Lexi sampled some of the gammon earlier, and Madam Poppy did some quality control on the chicken.

Sporting Lisbon v Arsenal is live on Talksport 2

Ive been doing a bi of paint mixing . I had bought a can of aerosol metallic blue from Halfords but when I got home I found that it had been used . I thought it felt a bit light . I decided to try and mix the colour for my Falcon Professional from some tins of basecoat that I had in my garage . I used a tin of Mini electric blue metallic and a tin of silver. I think the colour is quite close .
I'm going to take the aerosol back to Halfords .

Dry day and mostly sunny.
When I was out this morning the sea colour was a very vivid blue. If it had been a picture I would have said it had been enhanced and a bit unreal.
Meant to go and sit in the sun for a while but too cold so shifted stuff around at my shed doorway and could get the ICE trike inside there now I think. May try to get a trip over to Oban next week to bring it back home but need to negotiate with Calmac to see if I am allowed to travel at suitable times. They had stopped taking new bookings but surely will have restarted by now.
Travel via Lochaline is not really attractive due to possible road conditions and the Corran ferry is a smaller boat as well as being relatively expensive.
