Going round in circles with the bank's 24/7 chat function. Got through to a real live person, but English definitely isn't their first language* and the communication as a result is a bit squiffy. Stuff got lost in translation.

I shall try this again in the morning, when hopefully I can make myself understood a bit better. Otherwise I shall have to go to Cambridge in order to break some heads.

I'd say start knocking/cracking heads together, it'll get better results, quicker.
