Lovely bright morning here but cold. There's ice on the roofs of cars.

Lovely sunny day with little wind so hope to get out on trike when the world warms up a bit.

Somebody went off Connel bridge last night into the Falls of Lora.
There was massive emergency services response and a SAR helicopter flying around. All this happened within a few hundred yards of where I am and I never heard a thing.
I did not realise before that I could sleep through such a racket.
Nothing or nobody found so far and there is a pretty fast and powerful current so a wide area to search.

Good morning all. I wish this weather would make up its mind - although it looks like we had quite a bit of rain overnight, it was a bright and sunny start to the day, then it clouded over and now its gone all sunny again.

First coffee of the day has been drunk, breakfast will follow shortly and then I've got to make 2 trips into town - the first to pick up some plants for the front border and the second for away day food for tomorrow (Brands Hatch beckons).

Remarkable, non stop ride on the ebike to Waitrose this morning and the same for the return if a pause in the car park is ignored. 12 1/2 mins there 11 back. Normally its a combination of 3 min max rides between stopping. Normal free Times and 50p off bar of chocolate plus a pack of fish cakes on offer.

I've found Skoda ownership a very expensive hobby.

While Skodas are a recurrent mundane theme, my son-in-law has been driving a Fabia while his van's out of action. Written on the back are the words ''All Electric.'' Last time I was over there, I looked through the driver's side window. It had a 5-speed gearbox. It turns out that it's a petrol engine and the windows don't operate electrically but need manual winding. I have absolutely no idea what all electric could possibly mean.

A while ago there use to a chain of Birmingham based car dealers called All Electric .

Wiper blades have been fitted
A nice hour long walk completed, one of our neighbours was sat on his drive playing in his new Toyota car so will have to get a word with him at some point to see which one it is

Aha, that begins to make more sense. They are Skoda dealers but I'm surprised that they've added their own (confusing) branding to the rear of the car.

At least they still put stickers and the like on autos. Dealers started out with nice metal emblems on the back of cars, then went to stickers in the 1970's, and now it is just a cheap plastic license plate frame. Diminished, like the relationship between owner and dealer. We live in an age of reduced expectations...

A mostly sunny and surprisingly warm day here chez Casa Reynard, though there is evidence of a fair bit of rain having fallen overnight.

I did not sleep terribly well as my brain wouldn't switch off. Never mind, I had a nice morning watching the snooker (yay!) and I'm now watching some gymnastics. I'll be watching the Grand National later, though I've not picked a horse out. My fave jockey retired earlier this year, and the trainer whose horses I like to follow doesn't have a runner. Might just sit back and simply enjoy the race.

Have also sorted out some ingredients for tonight's supper - going down the comfort food route.

Anyways, it is almost time for luncheon.

Don't forget the coffee this time! ;)
