Nice bright sunny day so went up the side of Loch Etive. My favourite headwind as well which is behind me on the return trip.
Noticed a slight rattle at the front of the trike. Stopped to check and it looked like a holding bolt had disappeared. Cable tie would do for a temporary fix but where are the effing things. Not in my bag anyway but a small adjustable wrench has a short bit of string to make it easier to find in bottom of the bag so that has to do. Turns out to be one of these push on type of fitting so in fact nothing is missing apart from the relevant bit of my brain.

Apart from herring gulls the only bird life seems to be very vocal oyster catchers on the shoreline.

I am still very confused about days of the week and am somehow convinced this is Sunday so was a bit surprised to meet the Bonawe service bus.

The dreaded Queen’s Brae turns out to be doddle to climb with the e assist unlike the ICE trike with only my leg power.

Just been watching Highland Cops .My goodness they have a variety of things to cover Deer poaching Mountain Rescue Drug use as well as the more normal police duties.

The area they cover is massive.Only just started watching the first episode.

Interesting to see what the next two episodes have in store.

What sort of police cover does Mull have

For weeks a buyer has been making silly offers on something we've listed on Vinted. Each time been told no. he's now ended up buying it.
Trun's out late last night he asked when it was going to posted. As we did not reply last night , having only found out today he now want's to cancel it. Was all set to post toady so until he reply's it's staying put.

Had a lovely luncheon of filet americain on toast, then a pear, some blueberries and some raspberries, plus two :cuppa:

Mum suggested that I pick out a couple of horses in the National anyway, so I had a quick gander and chose Mister Coffey and Corach Rambler. I think she regretted that, because I ended up shouting at the telly. First time I've picked the winner since Comply or Die in 2008...

Anyways, cats now fed, supper is on the go and I'm settling back to watch some snooker.

Not as much as we used to have. The Tobermory police station and two houses are a few hundred yards away from me. Only one constable here now but we used to also have a sergeant. There is one constable I think in Salen and also Craignure and Bunessan. There are or were a few Special Constables as well. They wore a uniform but had reduced powers and worked alongside a full time officer at potentially busy times like Friday and Saturday night at pub chucking out time.
They do have a fair distance to cover as the island is 60 miles long by road.
We get visits from a mainland traffic unit from time to time.
Coming off the midnight ferry on a Friday night I often saw two watching the traffic coming on to the island looking for potential drunk drivers and drug dealers.
The dealers would come over on that ferry and go to a dance somewhere to do business and off on first ferry next morning. They stole a car parked at the ferry car park to travel sometimes which was their downfall as the car was often recognised with somebody driving who was not the owner. With the increase in settlers this is not so likely nowadays.
No idea what the current drug situation is but cannabis was grown locally and widely available.
Hard drugs did find their way here but not in large amounts that I heard of. I have lost contact with anyone who would know nowadays.
The last sergeant we had was a bit of a law unto himself and took the mickey out of his superiors. The Chief Super was a relative of my wife’s and told us a few stories.
He was good at his job and near retirement so they just turned a blind eye.
I cannot resist telling of the time the Chief Super and his Traffic equivalent came to visit. Sergeant M. booked them into the bridal suite in a local Country House Hotel and swore it was the only place he could find. The hotel owner had to keep his mouth firmly shut or get done for motoring misdemeanors.
