Must say, Thompson's Irish Breakfast Tea is actually rather nice.

Afraid it was, right side of face swollen this morning and back to the Dentist who removed the tooth prescribing I had a dental abscess and reckons the swelling should have gone by tonight. If not off to A&E tomorrow.

I've had a cpl yanked the past cpl years, some implants & some crowns, after a year of alignment treatments. dentist told me it would take me to my grave. heck, a grave would have been cheaper

No idea how that tat got attached to my picture and cannot see how to get rid of it just now. Whole thing got a bit mixed up when I took a photo of the photo hanging on the wall behind me if that makes sense.

Just been reading TT is to have a separate category for road bikes No clip on bars
No disc wheels
Ruling on minimum spoke number

This is it’s hoped to get more riders back to TT with out the need for expensive TT bike

The road bikes results will be separate from the TT specific bikes.

That sounds like a good idea, should give those that can't afford expensive kit a chance.

And it is hanging just above head height which makes it more difficult. Could have taken it down but could not be bothered.
My living room has been described by some as like a picture gallery. Not all are mine and many have sentimental attachments since they were done by some of my artist friends.

Vegetable soup with vermicelli (can't call it alphabet soup anymore cos I've run out of alphabet pasta), tandoori chicken, rice, steamed veggies and mint & garlic raita.

I don't think I've ever been so grateful for a one day working week as today - of all the phone & email queries we had to deal with today somewhere around 10% were actually for us. Its one of the perils of having to have one of only two publically published email contacts within the building and being the only team which accepts incoming phone calls due to the nature of the work.

On the bright side it's Billy Nomates on Wednesday. That's not a description of me* but the singer who I'm off to Nottingham to see at the Rescue Rooms.


*actually it is, but that's the way I like it

The other thing I wont miss for the next couple of days while I'm away is that cold north easterly wind straight off the North Sea. It may have been a lovely sunny day today, but in that wind...

I just ordered my "Germany Ticket"; the new railcard that's valid for all local trains and buses, trams et c, in Germany for 49€ per month. As it costs me about 80€ a month to visit family I'm happy with this.

I wanted to buy the card from Deutsche Bahn, but they only make the card available from June and if you want it from May you have to use a phone App. I don't trust such things so I went to the Freiburg Transport Authority to see if I could get a card from them. I can, but they have gone to the opposite extreme: to get a card I have to download and print a PDF, fill in the form, sign it, scan it and then post/fax/email it to the office...

Anyway, it's now done, receipt acknowledged, and I should get my card in the post in a week or two.

And I thought that we were the leaders in bureaucracy
