I bought a new retractable washing line. This one has to be retracted by hand so hopefully will last a bit longer than the last two.

Had a lovely luncheon of cheddar cheese bread, parma ham, vintage red leicester cheese, plus an apple, a Lane Late orange and the obligatory two :cuppa:

Madam Poppy loves parma ham. Ooops.

Made a big pot of sweet potato, carrot and red lentil soup with coconut milk and thai red curry paste. Am using authentic paste from the little oriental supermarket in town, and it's got some serious oooomph!

Had to use up the carrots - they were a 19p buy in Tesco over easter, but the damn things are hollow, and some had rotted from the inside out. I hadn't intended on buying a bag previous week, but it worked out cheaper than just buying like three carrots. I've got to the time of year where I don't use so many of them anymore.

Now kicking back with a :cuppa: and the snooker. Oh, and some chocolate. Am conducting a taste test on Aldi's "choceur" brand.

Tuesday and we are making slow progress in a trapezoidal shaped house with every room with its own special view of what square means
Client wants all the lines parallel. I'm gopher, but relaying areas to get everything square.
Teaching ducks to play bridge is probably easier

Sounds a bit like my teeny, tiny and somewhat wonky fenland cottage. I don't think there's a 90 degree angle anywhere LOL.

So there was enough blue sky for a sailor's overalls.

If that's what sailors wear

Started off bright but the forecast was for cloud by the afternoon so took trike out early up to my wildlife pal’s place with an idea to try some forest tracks nearby.
The one I tried had a horrendous surface of broken sharp edged rock for a few hundred yards so took it slowly with fears for my tyres. The rest was ok but then clouds appeared so turned back and reached shelter by the time sleet started. Went in for coffee and a natter as he was glad of a diversion after trying to sort his sister’s affairs as she died a few weeks ago.
There is another smoother track which was covered in broken scallop shells and cyclists stopped using it due to constant punctures. Forestry got their ears well and truly nipped for allowing that but the damage was done tho’ by now they may have broken down enough for me to try that route.
Back home and turned sunny again so more weeding done and a space sort of cleared for a shrub I have not yet purchased.
Sat in my sheltered spot and it was warm and fell asleep for an hour. Not nice wakening up stiff and fuzzy.

Winds finally changed direction. No icy blast on a short walk to the nearest post box (only collection 9am) to post 16 old style stamps for changing. Unfortunately the book with nine first class in it had got wet at some point and most of the stamps had unstuck so restuck in it with double sided tape.

Was a work in office day quickly decided yesterday as I pondered how to use up a Waitrose 50p off milk voucher - 2 mile lunchtime walk from the office being the answer.
