after doing a few rounds of cheese on toast under the grill who else loves those bits of melted then crispy cheese bits that fall off the bread.

sounds good but my drippy cheese usually catches fire! but then I don't use a broiler, I use a toaster oven, w/ electric elements top & bottom, set to toast. I guess I should use the "broil" setting, eh?

Right, after doing a few rounds of cheese on toast under the grill who else loves those bits of melted then crispy cheese bits that fall off the bread.

For the avoidance of doubt I love them. Even days later.

when I was a kid, we used our broiler to melt cheese on bread but we also put a strip of raw bacon on top. by time the cheese melted the bacon was also cooked. that was pretty yummy. haven't tried that in over 50 years tho

I think I shall go and blend the soup.

watcha makin'?

Nineteen mile loop completed on the single speed. It's great to be able to get out and about on the bike again now that my cold/flu has finally cleared up properly.

I note the council have been busy whilst I was convalescing. They've been busy ruining more of the local roads with chipseal. They must know that cyclists enjoy dodging piles of gravel on corners and being pinged by stones flung up by passing cars.:banghead:I'm sure it must make sense to a penpusher in some dusty, dark chamber in the county council office.

That was a cold start to the day - no frost but only just above freezing and with a lovely northerly wind to go with it. Could we just have a week of warmth and dryness - I know the long range forecasts can change quite quickly, but this is the current local one from the BBC
