My workplace is going through a 're-configuration' this summer, meaning we're losing our desks and moving to a smaller hot-desk set-up in September. The benefit is a couple of student labs for my students, which is great, but that's not evident from any communications received to date - only from looking in detail at the plans. Colleagues have received it as a FOAD message.
Anyway ... I'm almost packed with 25 years' of materials in boxes. They're going home and will be sorted since we get a small drawer-space in the new layout rather than storage cupboards. This dinosaur will be going fully digital ...
In addition there's been a break-in at the bike storage I borrow space in, with locks cut and the door having a hole cut in the metal cage for access. Mine (a Dawes Giro and Peugeot Optimum) were left as they a) were at the far end of the store and b) are about as desirable as a fairy visit on a wet, windy night. However, they're both going home for the time being.
The house will be a bit cramped for a while!

Crikey I'd forgotten about bin news. I've been away from here for a while. I must have put my bins out dozens of times since my last report. I'll see if I can get any camera footage from neighbours and post it up soon with reports. No two bin days are the same.
For a swift catch up it was general waste black bin Yesterday.

My niece seems to have developed decidedly expensive tastes since she went to university. It's her 21st birthday in May and the suggested pressie list includes an Apple Homepod Mini and two Gucci Guilty fragrance options. It's a good job her favourite/only uncle has a savings account paying out at the start of the month

It's a slightly chilly but vaguely sunny here chez Casa Reynard.
Slept well, and have spent the morning writing. This afternoon I shall be mostly watching snooker. I also need to have a hunt in one of the many boxes in the utility room for some cat toys, as I will be putting together the specials I'm taking to the show on Sunday.
I always take some small gifts whenever I'm judging. Quite often, I'll leave them on the pens of cats that haven't done terribly well, just so that their exhibitor doesn't go home empty-handed.
It is almost time for luncheon.

Oh, and my green garden waste wheelie bin has been dragged kerbside for collection tomorrow.
No black bag this week, there's almost nothing in it. Have only put one out this year, and that was three weeks ago.
