Well done.
I hate sealant, why cannot someone cope up with something that only goes sticky after a good few minutes. Anyway floor gaps filled. Beige a bit um... but white definitely would have been worse so a top quality BODGE JOB™. The sealant gun was rusting in places, so has had a couple of coats of rust converter.

Holes the plumber inadvertently made on the staircase wall (drill pushed through from the bathroom) filled and painted

Top metal cavity wall fixing of old towel radiator drilled through till it fell inside the wall and that and the other top hole which presumably went into wood filled, pretty large so a good day or two before any smooth top coat filler is applied. Same holes low down to deal with but not readily accessible due to the new towel radiator. Have ordered off eBay some big screw covers to fit over them.

Didn't do *too* badly in Tesco this afternoon.

Picked up free range chicken breasts, turkey meatballs, smoked haddock, a large tuna steak, these Muller chocolate dessert thingies, coleslaw, broccoli, chestnut mushrooms and a job lot (4 kilos) of strawberries.

Now having a quiet evening.

That’s a lot of strawberries! Jam? I have a Michelle Shocked earworm now.

I thought public holidays were supposed to be days to take a break. My day consisted of...
Various cleaning, lubing & maintenance of 3 bikes
A bottle bank & shopping trip
Car washed, polished and windows cleaned inside & out
Grass cut (applying that lawn feed a month or so ago was a mistake - I collected 4 black sacks worth of clippings!)
More cleaning, lubing & maintenance on another 3 bikes.

I've also swapped my working days around to help out due to half term/holidays which means I'm off on Tuesday and working Friday instead so Tuesday will be domestics day. Wednesday at work had better be quiet as I need a rest!

wow! a full day of home maintenance DIY! good on you!

Morning.
It is grey here this morning.
It is the Men's Shed this afternoon. I will take my new bike to see if my initial feelings are correct . Yesterday I was getting on well despite a strong gusty headwind. The ride feels smoother than my other bikes. It could just be a placebo effect . The ride out to the shed is a long drag up an incline and I find it knackering at ties .

I've just received a text reminder for a yoga session in Wimbledon Park. I don't do yoga. I hope whoever these messages (I discovered that I received one last month too) are meant for leads a life that's organised enough to not need text reminders.

Today, I'm getting ready for a child sitting day. Getting ready means sitting and drinking strong coffee.

Barnet,
Use to be a great one locally down a back street, you would go in and ask for something and if was slightly obscure it could be a good 5 minutes on later the assistant reappeared having been in the attic two doors down for it. It suddenly closed, story was the owner had had enough. It sat there locked up fully stocked for a good couple of years.

There was a great hardware shop in Barnet, Julian's, he was there for 42 years, but retired earlier this year. You could buy one nut and bolt if you wanted to, none of the packets of a dozen when you only wanted one so it kept the price down.
His old shop is still stocked with stuff that he didn't sell on the last day.
