The secret of happiness is achievable goals.
Oh good I will tell that to Leeds United.Who have forgotten what happiness is at the moment.

I've just had to sit through some training as it's 'compulsory' to undertake the training in order to do a specific, very small role. Despite trying to state I understood what I'm being trained on, the trainer continued through their clearly pre-written script.

Only when they got a bit stuck on something complex did I comment: "Don't worry, I helped design this. I'm fine ... this is how that bit works ..."

An electric deep fat fryer.

Although having seen your earlier post, that would maybe not be the best suggestion...

But I do make my own oven chips though. Cut the potatoes into chips (I leave the skins on) coat in oil, pepper, salt and whatever other flavours you want to use, then spread out on a baking sheet and wang into a hot oven till done.

The problem on Saturday evening was exacerbated when The Patient decided to lift the smoking chip pan off the hob and carry it towards the sink, and then pour the oil into a saucepan. This risked boiling hot oil going over his legs or feet.

I would have just moved the chip pan off the hot ring and put on a cold one. Opening the doors and windows helped get rid of the smoke and reduced the temperature in the kitchen.

The fact that he thought of carrying the chip pan indicated to me that he was not thinking about what he was doing.

I told him that was a big mistake. (Once I had calmed down enough on Sunday to say so without numerous :cursing::cursing::cursing: words.)

My Father was a man of Extremely Few Words but he gave me one piece of excellent advice. That is, "If you make a mistake, do not rush to put it right and make even more mistakes".

The Patient is seeing a Neurologist next week, to decide exactly how much the pituitry gland (just behing the nose) has enlarged.

oh yes training to script and check list complete with sticky labels with your name on ?
Reminds of the time Mrs 73 was told by an unqualified area head of training. That she was not allowed to train a course as she'd not done it. She pointed out it had her name down as the author.

Cold and drizzly here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept well, but why oh why does it feel like I've not had any sleep at all? And what was with the ridiculously vivid dream about keeping otters in the bathtub?!?!

Madam Poppy's ear is a lot better, though. She's a bit of a diva when I squeeze the ointment in however - her yells are louder than those of Maria Callas!

I have had a quiet morning catching up on some writing. More of the same this afternoon, except for the fact that I kind of fancy a bit of a girly pamper session. Looking at the weather forecast, it makes me glad that I did all that firewood last week. Although when you get to this time of year the weather can be decidedly pants, but it never lasts that long. We're only a fortnight off the equinox after all...

Anyways, it is almost time for luncheon.
