Nest box project is coming together. I'm using a Wilko nest box and a Blink wireless doorbell. I used one of my granddaughters dolls to check focus is ok. Illuminated by the Infra Red from the doorbell hence the B / W image. Next step is a couple of translucent " windows " in the roof to provide a bit of natural light during the day.

Perhaps you should submit this for an art exhibition. Fine, disturbing surrealist work there.

Forgot to add to the important debate about microwave cookers.
Mine reverses if turned off and then on at any time. A complete rotation takes 22 seconds ie the handle of a large mug starting at the door and being turned off on coming round again. This measurement is 3 inches from the centre.
I should not have attempted to get into this as it is getting too technical for my poor brain.

Looking at repatriating some items for my archive from a far-flung corner of the EU.

Ouch. Spendy. Especially by the time you add VAT & international postage.

Need to sleep on it.

Might have to live on bread & water for a while. And the girls go without their dreamies.

I haA lot about how you declare them. te Brexit.

will you ask them to remove their shoes? the more I think about it the more I like the idea. but then, one would have to provide sanitary slippers for each quest, huh?

People spontaneously take their shoes off. Odd because the entire ground floor is tiled.

Back from my run and the sun has just broken through the clouds. Mrs Tenkaykev has taken the Tank* up to Wimborne to do some shopping.

* The Tank is her touring bike, it has a large Shimano dynamo front wheel, and a 14 speed Rohloff hub on the rear wheel, rack and panniers. It's quite heavy when fully loaded.

Mild, grey & drizzly here chez Casa Reynard.

Did not sleep well. Wide awake till 5:30, then dropped off for a couple of hours, then woke up again and only dozed after. Feel really grumpy and washed out, so having a quiet day. Bit frustrated as the seller of the stuff I'm looking at repatriating gave me a 30% off voucher - that doesn't actually work. Currently, including postage and VAT, I'm looking at the thick end of £100 for four photographs. Which is, quite frankly insane.

OK, the daft numpty has sent me high-res scans - from which it'd be easy to get 8x6 prints made. But it's what's on the *back* of the originals that makes them interesting, as it gives me another avenue of research.

I think I'm going to have to take out my grumps on my stash of chocolate. It's that kind of a day.

And I've moved my three walnut saplings out from under cover to take advantage of the rain. I noticed that the buds on them were starting to split. And my sole surviving Apricot tree has flowers on it this year - didn't last year, after the top snapped off.

Anyways, it is time for luncheon.
