That’s a busy morning for me

A very mild, bright and breezy day here chez Casa Reynard.

Did not sleep well. My brain refused to switch off, and I was still wide awake at half past five this morning. So I have had a quiet morning working on the writing. I'm glad I had taken a bit of a break from it, as I'm seeing the chapter I'd been working on through fresh eyes, and can now see (sort of) how to solve some of the issues I was having with it. Part of the difficulty is how to integrate a lot of background material about some of the characters' past relationships into the dialogue without it feeling corny or contrived.

As it's dry outside, I shall finish clearing up those two ash branches this afternoon. It will probably take me longer to move and stack the logs than it will to cut the lot up with the chainsaw. It's all green wood, so will need a year or two to dry before it's ready to burn. As I'll be working at ankle level (largely), I would imagine I will not be finding sawdust in my undercrackers. No guarantees though, as it's one of the mysteries of the universe...

I have decided to wear my blue-dialled Seiko automatic today.

Anyways, it is almost time for luncheon.

@rockyroller - if you're test-driving a RAV4 try a Honda CRV. I won one last year (see 'Motoring' sub-forum titled "Ā£30k to spend...") and have been impressed with it

Mind you it's predecessor was a Peugeot Partner Tepee, so not much of a comparison, although I had a Saab 9-3 Aero convertible before that.

thank you. I did test drive them back when I was shopping in 2015. I did like them

I need a new one, no idea what to get, the choice is ridiculous unlike years ago, never tried an electric maybe thats the way forward?

yeah it's time to get on board w/ hybrids & electrics
it's been tough shopping for pre-owned units because that's all I can afford, with minor exceptions, like the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek. I can afford a new one but only the stripped down base model w/ hardly any of the features & benefits I currently enjoy in my 2014 Jeep Cherokee Limited
I'm leaning toward new now, just for the warranty. all the used cars I can afford are out of (manufacturers) warranty or close to it
so cranky today because I just can't afford to just go buy what I want
cars are stupid

Lovely luncheon of a cheese & coleslaw sandwich, the last of the taramasalata on a couple of crackers, an apple, a tangerine and the obligatory two :cuppa:

Beat the parental unit quite comprehensively in our lunchtime pip-off... There were ten pips in my tangerine to her one.

Now letting my lunch tamp down (doing some writing) before I go out and cut up those two ash branches.
