A very mild, bright and breezy day here chez Casa Reynard.
Did not sleep well. My brain refused to switch off, and I was still wide awake at half past five this morning. So I have had a quiet morning working on the writing. I'm glad I had taken a bit of a break from it, as I'm seeing the chapter I'd been working on through fresh eyes, and can now see (sort of) how to solve some of the issues I was having with it. Part of the difficulty is how to integrate a lot of background material about some of the characters' past relationships into the dialogue without it feeling corny or contrived.
As it's dry outside, I shall finish clearing up those two ash branches this afternoon. It will probably take me longer to move and stack the logs than it will to cut the lot up with the chainsaw. It's all green wood, so will need a year or two to dry before it's ready to burn. As I'll be working at ankle level (largely), I would imagine I will not be finding sawdust in my undercrackers. No guarantees though, as it's one of the mysteries of the universe...
I have decided to wear my blue-dialled Seiko automatic today.
Anyways, it is almost time for luncheon.
