A friend and I went out for a ride this morning as it was nice and sunny . It looks like we had a lot of rain in the night as there were quite a few large puddles around. I did just over 14 miles. The wind had picked up on the way back and had turned into a strong headwind.

Mundane Items - Shirt Packaging

I'm no environmentalist but why does a work shirt need so much packaging? Bits of cardboard, clips, plastic etc. Just unwrapped one and its a big pile on the kitchen table. Bonkers.

I'm hoping that most of that *should* be recyclable... But yeah, excessive packaging is a pain.

On the way back from the local shop earlier, I saw the aftermath of someone having been run over by a car. It had only just happened, with the car half onto the grass verge and the chap still under the back of the car, unmoving 😔

@rockyroller - if you're test-driving a RAV4 try a Honda CRV. I won one last year (see 'Motoring' sub-forum titled "£30k to spend...") and have been impressed with it

Mind you it's predecessor was a Peugeot Partner Tepee, so not much of a comparison, although I had a Saab 9-3 Aero convertible before that.

I seem to recall that you had the underpowered petrol version so not really a fair comparison. I have the 1.6 turbo version and preferred it to a Rav4 which I borrowed on occasion.

We used to sell work shirts and had them hanging on a rail sans packaging. Removing the packaging took ages and took several bin bags to take the rubbish away.

Turned out not goo bad a day with mostly sunshine but some heavy showers mixed in and still windy.
Just been watching the fish farm workers heading back. They do not hang about with a big outboard on a RIB.
Through the Diorlinn full throttle as they obviously can judge the depth pretty well with familiarity.
My son had to get a skipper’s ticket as at that time the fish farm had a 56ft ex fishing boat. He sometimes got the job of being on board some small ferries if the boat had to go to Oban for repair. Did not have to do anything but had to be there nominally in charge for legal reasons as it was outwith the normal skippers ticket range.

Thank you @Speicher . We were planning on taking the boat over and walking back. The weather is a tad blowy so we'll check to see if the boat is running today. 👍

I hope I did not confuse you. The jetty nearest to Portinscale is called Nichol End. I think there is a low level walk from Nichol End to the southern point of the Lake. I say "think" because it depends on the water level, the southern end of the lake can extend into a very marshy "bog".

The police helicopter has been flying overhead for ages. My daughter phoned me to say that a 15/17 Yr old schoolboy has been stabbed, and is being reported as having died, opposite the Cock Hotel about a mile from here... 😔

That's the second possible fatality up my end of Hamtun today!
