I have spent the morning operating the model railway, now it is time to do some proper work.
oh fun! for a while, about 20 yrs ago, when my kids were little I got back into a childhood hobby (never serious). had 3 simultaneous working rail lines. 2 ovals & 1 figure 8. it was so much fun trying to crank all 3 up & keep them all on the tracks at the same time. a little noisy but good times. I trust your setup is not as messy as mine was. I can see that I kept the table set up for years after the kids moved on to larger bikes, haha. still have that little blue cooler from when Wifey & I were just dating over 32 years ago

Is that the one in the NRM? I've often thought I'd love to volunteer just to operate that for a bit.

Spent the afternoon in the garden clearing up those ash branches. They are now cut up into logs and stacked up along the wire fence where they can dry out and season. It's all really good quality stuff. Also cut up a length of mulberry that I didn't get round to processing previous week.

Now sat down with a :cuppa: and the last slice of lemon & lime deluge cake.

I have partially solved the problem with the writing by making one of the characters in the chapter I'm working on a fan of the driver being discussed. This character (Hannah Marks) is a good deal younger than both the others in this scene, and is doesn't know the whole story. It's a good way of disguising an infodump.

We seemed to get a new vision statement, poster on the wall, coasters for our coffee mugs. They also bore the phrase of the moment.
There were lapel badges, biros, ties, sweat shirts and so on

These programs all acquired their own acronym - BOHICA.

I went through BT's share issue, AT&T UK take over by Viatel & the T-Mobile/Orange/EE merger. The amount of junk we were given!

oh dear how traumatizing. I saw a dead body at a motorcycle accident once. you have my sympathies, as well as to the victim & their family & friends

I was one of the scuba divers tasked by the local police to retrieve dead bodies from deepish water. Perhaps I am an insensitive kind of person but it did not particularly bother me as they were people I did not know.
It was quicker and easier for all concerned as otherwise the police dive unit would have to come from Glasgow which could take possibly a couple of days.
