My neighbour could not silence his low battery alerting smoke alarm so instead of just disturbing me he put in his shed ! Resolved the matter by acquiring it and smashing it with hammer.

That's what I feel like doing at times!

Save time, do it online. So says the Westminster govt. or rather it's Swansea DVLA.
Just spent a very frustrating half hour trying to persuade the online form that what is printed on my current driving licence is where I actually live. They cannot match my postcode to my printed address despite the fact I carefully copied what was already on my licence.
Had to resort to the paper form in the end as I was getting nowhere and then out into the pouring rain to the post box which will not be emptied again till tomorrow.
Perhaps this is a subtle way of telling me I should not be driving at my age. Any conspiracy theory will do.
To add to the joy my printer is running out of ink so as this is the first time I changed cartridges on this printer I look forward to further chaos.
While out in my car which is my only realistic means of going anywhere I notice the motorhomes are already taking up residence in the free car park and camper vans are parked nose in to the sea side and so project out and take up half of the carriageway.
Tomorrow there is the first cruise liner of the year so no point trying to go anywhere near Main St as they wander everywhere en masse as tho' this was a pedestrian only area. In our experience as shopkeepers they never bought anything either so of no real benefit to anyone apart from what we called the T & P outfits.

can you set up some kind of business to get some of their money?
sell flowers?
or sell directions?

We are looking at planks i kid you not.We are going to make a new edging for the flower bed. Then we have four humungus compost bins to riddle or as our friends over the pond say com post.Weird that lot. Then all new plants, bushes and even a tree in it's own bed.We are going to be very smart.

work buddy built a giant u-shaped raised garden bed for his Wife a few years back. took him a cpl years to fill it w/ enough dirt. then it didn't work out for some reason & he's trying to figure out what to do w/ the darn thing & all the dirt

a guy came in to my 2nd job where I cut lumber, this past Sunday. had me cut approx 20 big boards so he can replace some garden beds he built a cpl years ago. what a vicious cycle!

gotta love Spring projects, eh?

Chilly, grey and rainy here chez Casa Reynard. I have put my pot plants (plants in pots, and NOT cannabis) out in the rain. This includes three walnut saplings that are about 18 inches tall, a pot of chives, a pot of parsley and a spider plant.

I slept well, and have had a quiet morning catching up on some research. My bookseller friend sent me some magazines from the late 70s and early 80s for my Cake Day that he thought might be of interest. Madam Poppy is asleep in one of the armchairs. Madam Lexi has chosen the laundry bag as the ideal place for her nap.

The seller of those magazines I won on the Bay of E says a cheque is OK to pay for them, so I have spent some time looking for my chequebook. I found it eventually in a pile of paperwork. I haven't used it since 2018!

This afternoon I shall have another attempt at sorting out my bank card. I'm wondering if it might not be easier to cancel this card and get a new one.

Anyways, it is time for luncheon and I has a hungry.

I found a slide of me from July 1971 on my new Holdsworth Record. I had hair then and my feet could touch the ground whilst sitting on it. The bike that is!

I was minus 4 years old then.

Looks like it might be a tad earlier in the year as I'm pretty sure those are elderflowers in the background. Late May / early June, I'd guess...
