Just pondering how short our actual lifetime is and the incredible changes that occur. The people who manufactured and installed this pillar box c1870 could never possibly have envisaged a small wheeled folding bike with pneumatic tyres, suspension, chain drive and three gears as all that was somewhere in the future and God knows what they would have made of the adjacent cars or that people would be able to fly from all over the world just to visit some strange hexagonal-shaped rocks. (This is near the Giant's Causeway.)

I (re)joined the library this week. Borrowed four books, finished two so far and am taking the third upstairs with me for an early night. Three late nights in a row have just about broken me.

in the meantime, certain that it must've landed in one of several boxes of junk under my workbench, i rummaged through, sorted, cleaned and tidied them. 60% is in the bin, 40% in a box for charity. 😇

Lovely supper of Newmarket sausages, clapshot, steamed green beans and apples* pan fried in butter with chilli & rosemary.

* spotted this idea while looking up how to cook the ribeye pork the other night. It's just apple slices with the above seasonings slowly fried in a bit of butter till brown around the edges, then finished off with a small dollop of honey. Really recommend this, it kicks apple sauce into touch. Actually, the apples would also be nice as a dessert, dumped on top of really good vanilla ice cream.

Google seems to suggest there's one in Downpatrick and one in Hillsborough.

I wonder where the sixth is. There was one in Galway but it's been removed for refurbishment a few years ago apparently. I wonder is that the sixth or is there another somewhere.🤔

I've ridden my Brompton through New Ross. I obviously wasn't in that street.
