I found a new amber side wall tyre in my garage so I swapped the rear tyre for that one and got a pinch puncture! The new tyre was very tight! I think I can see why they were cheap. I repaired the inner tube and managed to refit the tyre . The new tyre is narrower despite being the same size as the one I removed .

I don't know whether I look particularly comical but people keep smiling at me. I prefer to think that it's the sunshine.

The sun has found it's way to N Wales. Attempted to get to the beach, but the route crosses some dunes, and some land that floods on high tides. Unfortunately, a large section of walk way is being replaced due to age, and the section it was supposed to span was rather wet, too wet for walking shoes.

Sun is finally out here. Looking forward to getting out for bike rides and/or walks in the next few days. The plan is to borrow Hebe Jr’s bike while she’s away as her hybrid is a bit cushier than mine.

Forecast looking good for next few days. New brake pads being delivered to the local Spar/post office in Wales tomorrow. Can't be a bad thing wearing out pads on the best bike, shows its getting use again.

It's been a cool but sunny day (mostly) here chez Casa Reynard.

I have been very lazy. Slept in, then watched Arsenal v Man City in the WSL (we won 2-1, wheeeee!!!), then watched the GP. What a fecking circus... At least the roll stuffed with thinly-sliced ribeye pork that I had for luncheon was utterly lush.

Then I watched the England v Italy game in the women's 6 nations and spent the rest of the afternoon in the armchair cuddling cats.

I might have also had a and a custard tart.

Today's Watch du Jour is my Kelek handwinder; GP c-shaped case, gold & white indices and hands, charcoal grey sunburst dial.

Sat here eating Pakora at my local Indian (actually Nepalese) buffet. I'm the only customer, but I go in all the time so they know me.
They are doing a better trade in takeaways tonight anyway.

About this time of day a weary looking ferry skipper is plodding home after collecting his aged dog from his son who lives at a lower level. After a 25 yard gap comes a cat which follows them up the road nearly every night. I can only presume it is his cat tho' he seems to pay little attention to it following.
I must look out for him sometime and make enquiries.
On one crossing to Tobermory from Kilchoan he invited me up to the bridge for the crossing.
Interesting as not quite as traditional as one would expect. Steering is a horizontal wheel about 4 or 5 ft in diameter and speed is a large lever about 5ft long which determines speed but also the gearbox, so push forward for forward, mid is neutral and back is astern.
Nothing very useful achieved today but did try to clear out a shelf under a coffee table. I have a lot of photos on CD's and a pretty useless laptop whcih I have never got to work properly since I have all Macs. I keep it as it has a CD player built in but did not try it today.
A bit fed up and depressed being unable to get out as much as I would like.
