10 days ago spent $40
- the 3 large hyacinth bloomed & smelled good (very strong) & then the fragrance subsided
- the gardenia never bloomed & only the 1 original flower had any aroma
both are out of my office
- replaced by a single small hyacinth, with a mild fragrance
lets see if that lasts a cpl weeks
$5 twice a month is manageable

It's a warm and mostly sunny day here chez Casa Reynard.
Apologies for my absence yesterday, but I made marmalade and vanished into the rabbit hole that was an archive of stock car photos. I have learned not to rely on the tags and keywords to search, as most of the images don't have much in the way of ID, or if they do, it's not always reliable. It's just easier to browse and then take a closer look at the photos that catch my eye.
This morning I have been dealing with what I pulled out of there yesterday. I have managed to narrow down the gap that the car I am interested in fell off the radar during 1983 by nearly two months - from mid-May to early July, as there is a picture of it being raced at the Ipswich Spedeweekend which always takes place first weekend in July. However, that still leaves a six month period where it is unaccounted for. However, even this small piece of evidence is a good thing, as it strengthens the case that I am building as to who bought the car and why.
I do not think I will be popular in the stock car community, as it's looking like I will be turning the car's accepted history in this timeframe completely on its head.
Had a lovely luncheon of filet americain on toast, followed by assorted fruit and two
Letting that lot tamp down before I go out and do some gardening.

There is a wasp on the window next to where I'm sitting.
Ended up riding to Bury St. Edmunds for lunch - a total of 44 miles in some glorious sunshine and light winds. It's one of those Hungry Horse jobs where the food isn't exactly glamorous, but filling which is what I needed. Really should finish the drink and head to the rail station.

We were always warned we might get run over by a bus.
Our Head Girl while with us on the way to a Trade Show remembered she had left all her knickers ar home. Had to do a diversion to the nearest Markies in Inverness.
Ended up with 50 miles extra and my wife went in with her and both came out carrying large bags of stuff they had not thought of until they got inside.

An odd day; I've driven to work as I'm coughing a lot and didn't want to risk things.
So ... I brought a bike frame with me as I need my university's workshop to help remove a stuck bottom bracket (they have a big vice). All good there.
But .. I also have my Dawes Giro Zwift bike in there, which is being dismantled. I also need help removing the CeramicSpeed bottom bracket in that as the external threads are damaged. So, I unlocked it and removed the pedals, the crankset and the wheels. However, a lady was sat in her car watching me - I'm guessing also onto security.
Sadly son no. 2 was hit by a van, then it's trailer, this lunch-time, who then drove off without stopping
. The driver had apparently been revving his engine behind my son despite him going 15mph uphill. Fortunately two lorry drivers stopped to help and both have offered dashcam footage. He's battered but nothing seems to be broken, just shoulder / hip / knee scrapes. I drove to meet him and got our LBS to look at the bike - it's got a scraped DuraAce RH shifter, cracked carbon saddle and paint scrape. If we can get the driver's registration it'll be reported and claim for those, plus damaged clothing and injuries will go in. I've some sympathy for someone who stops, none for a deliberate hit-and-run. [DuraAce shifter, saddle plus a re-paint of the damaged area in it's bespoke paint is probably £1000, plus £300 for the NoPinz university jacket and 3/4 bibs, then injuries]. He doesn't want to go to hospital but I've got photographs of the injuries and may take him later / tomorrow to be checked over.
