I'm retired the weeks shouldn't be flying past like they are doing, I should have time to enjoy the days not keep wondering where the time is going.

It is a milky sunny morning here with quite a bit of thin cloud around .
I will go up and check the Hedgehog food bowl later . The past couple of days the food and water bowl have been empty . Something has been eating it .

I'm on blood monitoring duty for the next couple of weeks. I had test results back yesterday and apparently my kidney function is down by 20%. So I'm to take my blood pressure twice a day at varied times and have another blood test in a week. 137/72 this morning at 9am.

Waiting for a video call with the employment agency. This evening I have to go to the local office in person, I suspect it's for the same reason and they've got their wires crossed, again.

I've had a similar situation before where I cancelled the duplicate appointment in writing, twice, and still got a threatening letter from another department I "should have informed" so I'll go to both and give them the same information twice.

I feel a Victor Meldrew moment coming on. I do not belieeeve it.
I got up at 0600 this morning and drove 21 miles to the ferry terminal for a day trip to see family and do some other bits of business.
The ferries are both working but the linkspan has broken down so no vehicles can be carried. Foot passengers are ok with one of the boats but there are lots of disgruntled vehicle drivers and pasengers. The alternative is to drive via Lochaline but that is not practical for a day trip to Oban due to distance and the fact that Ardgour to Corran ferry is off. This latter one is Highland Council and not Calmac.
The earliest booking I can get is next Thursday as every ferry apart from one very early morning one is fully booked.
Tourists book months ahead and fill the boats. Is it any wonder I am beginning to have a real hatred of tourists?

Turns out that they really are better organised than a few years ago and this was indeed a different appointment, working out what my qualifications are and how best to use them. This is important because my job title in German is sufficiently similar to that for "Kindergarten teacher" that it trips the algorithms on the Employment Agency computers and I don't want to be inundated with offers to work with kids.
