Idly watching some talking heads on the telly a few mins ago and they were interviewing two singers who are apparently 'iconic' and instantly recognisable by all in the land. Apparently.

I was sitting there thinking

'Who?'

You mean the LLanfair 400 audax where you get to ride past Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch at Llanfairpwllgwyngyll on the way to Holyhead and back in the 400km ride.

Can't ride what is my favourite audax as I've got a poorly back so need to find something else to do :sad:

Instead I'm going to try a gentle 35-mile ride to Holmfirth and back, possibly stopping at Sid's Café of Last of the Summer Wine fame, where three silly old men did stupid stuff and talked about their ailments.

Our main manufacturing business was woolly hats with names and logos on them. We once got an order for that Welsh place with the long name but waived the normal minimum number as they had to be done by hand. The computerised machines could not cope with such a long name. We did them mainly for a laugh and advertising purposes. :becool:

Sunshine and showers but you do not normally get both at the same time.
Just now the sun is shining with raindrops landing on my windows.
Swithering about taking the trike out but a bit wary about damaging my back again before I have another attempt at a trip off island.
Daft touroid on FB asking about how many consecutive days the ferries are off and how often this happens. Settlers falling over themselves to welcome more of the nuisances to their twee little popup snackerries which they run in the summer for pin money.

Murky changing into light clouds backlit by the sun accompanied today's ebike ride to Waitrose for a free TV guide Times; and a rucksack full of cheaper than elsewhere cereal and Activia yogurts. Long doze at a traffic light eventually joined by another cyclist on a road bike. Unfortunately the lights changed before I discovered where he had been or was going to. Forecast not good;

Well you can't expect the touroids to give up their skinny flat latte with a squeeze. Can you?

And they contribute to the local economy by providing work for the locals recovering their abandoned cups everywhere.

Also the transient suppliers are not burdening the community by paying rent, council tax or other mundane taxes.

A local toll of £200 on every coffee van or similar arriving at the port. After safety inspection that costs £350, takes 3 days and valid for 30 days. Call it a health and safety trading licence.
