That's just plain rude @oldwheels - you'd expect someone to ask first, at least.
Indeed. Just because someone APPEARS to be struggling, never assume they are. Always offer assistance first and don't barge in. :okay:

What did you get?

I picked up a s/h Canon Lide 220 earlier this year.

A Canon LiDE 300 (new)

It says on Amazon that it's 2400 dpi, but the highest resolution on the drop down menu is only 600dpi, so I'm not quite sure what to make of it. I've still got until 4.6.23 to send it back, but I don't know whether there's anything to be gained from that.

They got to lap 91 / 200 before the first yellow got thrown. Someone's clouted the wall in T2

The software can be a bit arsey. That's something that pops up in the reviews of the lide range of scanners.

Out of the first 4 or 5 times I used it the software crashed twice, but it's kept going ok since then. First time it hung at the 'warming up' popup and I had to stop it using Task Manager, after which the computer went a bit doolally for a while. Next time it just kept reporting that the USB wasn't plugged in when it was. I chose it because it's the same one (or looks the same) as the one I've used in the library (although their interface s/w seems all different).

Ah, are you using the full-on software, or the drivers only?
