I work not too far from where these guys are so a lunchtime next week is sorted. ^_^

Warm and sunny here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept well. Main task this morning was making the dough for a bread - it's a birthday gift for a friend along with the cheese that's currently ripening in my fridge. It's a wheat, oat & spelt loaf, made with only a little bit of yeast, so it will take its time to do the initial bulk ferment.

This afternoon, I have to go and do some erranding in town. Amongst other things, I need milk and eggs from Tesco, a fresh supply of antihistamines from Savers and some lightbulbs from Wilko.

It is just about time for luncheon.

I once lodged with a landlady who did something similar. She called it "Indian Toast" but then she was sozzled at the time.

Very warm day but a brisk SW wind.
Lovely trike run in the sunshine and watched an angler casting for trout but he caught nothing while I was there so moved on.
The other notable feature this morning was very little traffic tho' one idiot going too fast nearly got me at the blind corner I am always wary of.
Fortunately a small car and there was enough room to take emergency evasive action.

Saw one swallow near the Cheese Farm tho' there used to be lots of them nesting in the farm buildings. No Sand Martins either who nested on the edge of the nearby golf course but came down my way in the evenings to feed. Reports are they have been getting too much disturbance from idiots poking things into the burrows.

The garage have indeed now got card payment pumps and the owner came out to demonstrate how to use them.
He will leave his bill until after the new spring is fitted next week. Not scraping along on the bottom of his overdraft obviously.Probably an illusion but the car seems to run smoother after it's service.

Sat up the garden in the sunshine for a bit and a goldfinch came to visit.

I came across one of those cycle tool-stations and decided I would use the track pump to check my tyre pressure following the puncture the other and I had only pumped it up with the small hand pump I carry.

A nice idea in theory but the pipe on the track pump was so short I had to lift my Brompton so I could put the chuck on the valve. I then discovered the leaver to lock the chuck on the valve is so long it wouldn't lock on a Brompton back wheel with Sturmey hub because there isn't enough room between the valve and the hub flange. The end was result was actually letting the tyre down again and I had to pump it back up again with my small pump  It's discrimination against those with small wheels!
