Good morning from a warm & humid Suffolk. First coffee of the working day completed and I'm considering actually going out and doing something productive. At some point while I was away, there was a major change to the most important systems we use and, in normal Civil Service fashion, it's made it even more user unfriendly than before.

It is not yet raining but feels pretty cold indoors anyway as I have not been outside yet.
Thundery showers are forecast.
I am wearing the same outfits I wear in winter, the difference is no central heating but I may light the stove to warm the house up a bit.
More people are getting wound up about touroid behaviour on the islands. The numbers are getting overwhelming but I wonder how many will be back after this spell of weather. I was always sceptical about the emphasis on tourism as it is not to be trusted.
We used to have a lot of small businesses exporting goods from here. We were one.
There are two firms which have put a lot into expansion and employ a lot of people now but they are not considered important by the short sighted touroid cheerleaders.
We need more like that to get away from tourism dependency which some have likened to a form of prostitution.

I had a nice chat with the two chaps who empty the dog-poo & litter bins as I was walking Bonnie this morning.
The council has decided that the always full poo bin that I've reported a couple of times on Fixmystreet, and is a yard inside the Daventry boundary is not on their round as it's Northampton'responsibility.. Northampton Council thinks otherwise!
In true Council fashion, probably with committee meetings at the highest level in both domains and site visits, risk assessments yada yada yada, decided the best way to solve the problem is to remove the bin. The Daventry chaps had just taken it away this morning.
