I had a nice chat with the two chaps who empty the dog-poo & litter bins as I was walking Bonnie this morning.
The council has decided that the always full poo bin that I've reported a couple of times on Fixmystreet, and is a yard inside the Daventry boundary is not on their round as it's Northampton'responsibility.. Northampton Council thinks otherwise!
In true Council fashion, probably with committee meetings at the highest level in both domains and site visits, risk assessments yada yada yada, decided the best way to solve the problem is to remove the bin. The Daventry chaps had just taken it away this morning.

I've noticed that many of the bins I pass no longer have bags that actually fit them but have huge bags that the workers have to somehow lose the excess around the outside of the bin. Presumably a decision has been made that too many types of bag were being bought.

Maybe it's a 'One size fits all' job. Cheaper to buy lots the same rather than several different sizes?

That and less chance for certain sizes to go "missing". The about of meetings I've sat in and bins get talked about. it get's very complex at times. Not helped by councillors who turn them into a battle ground. The about of times we'd turn round and said why don't you just do or all you need to do is... oh yes never thought of that..
A big issue is the about of bins that even now are not split to allow even basic recycling. It's madness even when they get replaced it still get's missed. Not only are they not recycling but are missing out on extra income from increased recycling streams.

Weather forecast was all wrong today. Rain did threaten a couple of time but came to nothing.
I should have been out on the trike but found other thing to do.
I would have been better going out to Glengorm again where I saw some Peewits yesterday. There used to be lots on my grandparents croft when I was there many years ago but they were gradually being replaced by Oyster Catchers.
Down on Main St I passed a wing mirror damage "discussion". Here you have to be able to judge your vehicle width to the fraction of an inch and most touroid have no idea.
After ferreting around in the house and sheds I have concluded I really need a car boot sale to get rid of a lot of surplus stuff which I grudge giving away to the charity shop. We used to have them from time to time but nowadays are probably not twee enough for those who call themselves craft workers selling all sorts of tourist junk.
