Cool, grey and blustery here chez Casa Reynard. We had some rain overnight.

Slept well. Apologies about absence last night, but I was going some research and got distracted by interesting stuff. Anyways, I had a lie in, and did some gentle puttering about in the garden. Had to add some extra cable ties to my triffids as they're all starting to set quite a bit of fruit. Also fed them. Used the leftover feed to give a splooshette each to all of my various herbs.

It's supposed to clear up here later, so if it does, I shall go for a bicycular bimble of some description.

It is almost time for luncheon.

I remember the days before we had gadgets and we didn't record everything we did, we just enjoyed riding our bikes.

Yes, not cycling but running. Our long Sunday runs over the Purbecks were estimated at 12,14, 18, 22 miles, depending which loop we ran. Then Garmin GPS watches appeared on the scene and we'd overestimated the distances we were running, the 14 miles being the closest to our estimation.

Successful rucksack capacity trial of a full bag of used coffee machine pods and an empty cool bag bar two ice blocks so a 45 minute walk in warm windy overcast conditions to drop off the pods at a corner shop for recycling and then an ice cream /frozen dessert raid on the Co-Op (Kellys ice cream currently £3). The headwind was noticeable at walking pace. The one ice cream cone already in the freezer had to be scoffed to make room for the four new ones.

Yes, not recording it does take me back. We can over share what we’ve been up to sometimes.

Yes, the only thing I've had on my bikes is a basic bike computer.

Strange slightly frustrating day.
Went to library ok and then went to watch the start of the second leg of the Round Mull yacht race which is run by the Oban Yacht Club. Two motorhomes taking up the four Blue Badge spaces and the slipway was also parked up so had to give up on that.
Went up to a forest walk we used regularly in the past and since it is not signed it was deserted. Tried out two walking poles to aid walking which seems to be a success but got rained on with a heavy downpour.
Back home got some bits together to fit a handlebar bag I have to the back of the trike. Not very straightforward but should work once I actually get it fitted. Had to give up due to more heavy rain and a freezing cold northerly wind. Try again tomorrow.

The local ironmongers have announced that they are increasing their range of bike spares which could be handy and any bits not in stock they can get if required. Not sure if they really know much about the subject but the intention is good. A previous manager was a keen cyclist and also did repairs if needed.
