Happy birthday to Mrs 73.

Bright sunny day when I got up this morning with some high thin cloud.
Total change now and the sky is grey with no sunshine. Nothing planned but just think of things to get done as I go along.
Probably go up to visit my wildlife pal. I need to confirm the funeral last week of the wife of a mutual friend before I send a sympathy card as is the custom here.
I was away from home but he said he would attend the funeral. Both of us have lost wives so know how it feels.

I noticed that @Jenkins thought he was getting old at approaching 60 years. Ye Gods he is just a child by my standards.

Good morning from Suffolk where it's another nice & bright start to the day. The first coffee of the day has just been had and bowl of porridge is ready to be microwaved for breakfast.
Another long day of travelling, eating, drinking & listening to loud music awaits.

Waterproofs, without a doubt.
Leave them behind and you'll know they'll be needed once you're gone too far to go back for them.
Decision made - I'm taking a warm jacket as it looks like the worst may pass during the morning. If things change, then the Decathlon near the rail station has emergency waterproof ponchos. Either that or I'll get off at Harrogate and possibly find pub related shelter there.

Dog walk done , time for his breakfast then :cuppa: time before I start to get things ready for Mrs 73's birthday.
Happy birthday to Mrs 73.

I went to B&M to buy peanuts for our bird feeder. I placed the peanuts on the till counter where the bag split and covered the counter the floor everywhere with peanuts! The till lady told me to hand her the empty peanut pack over and get another. I went to a different till as the queue was fuming where the spill happened.

Ray Mears did a series of programmes about the explorers in Canada who travelled by canoe.

On the first day of any journey, they only did a few miles in the canoe before setting up the camp.
So if they had forgotten anything, they could go back for it. The next day they would cover a more significant mileage.
