Freshly front brake bled (well yesterday evening with a few expletives) pedelec ebike had an evening visit to the bike stands at Lidl. Its rider at times in need of an accompanying spider for the amount of greenfly on my t shirt and arms. On the one major climb back home and a loud whirring approached from the rear - an illegal probably ebike running solely on throttle wizzed pass.

Dropped some surplus kit off at the University bike repair manny today and noticed he had a vintage; 1960s - ? Raleigh for sale which had had alloy rims fitted, a flip flop hub and replacement chainwheel & cranks. The paintwork was original, but in very tatty condition, so I couldn't make out the model.
Was interested until I saw the price he was asking; £220.
Nope, not that interested - !

A really hot and sunny day here chez Casa Reynard.

Sleep was middling at best - just too hot, really and took me ages to drop off. This morning was mostly spent giving Colin his first bath of the year, and removing a winter's worth of accumulated mud and crud off. I now have a much more presentable albeit still not entirely clean car, although removing the mud off the parking sensors makes them sensitive enough to ping at every single nettle when reversing. Also furkled in the freezer for some smoked bacon and some beef mince, which I will use to make a ragu for pasta.

Had a lovely luncheon of the last of the tiger bread, the last of the rilettes de porc and some of the raspberry jam pan scrapings. Plus fruit and a :cuppa: of course.

Watched the snooker, and then when that was done, trotted off out, first to the village to vote for the least worst clown on the ballot sheet, and thence to Tesco to do some shopping, as I was muchly in need of bread, milk, sugar and fruit. Managed to pick up the bread and milk on yellow sticker, so very happy with that. Chucked £25-worth of petrol in the car on the way home, and I now have almost a full tank, which will be handy since I'm driving to Stoneleigh on Saturday to steward at a cat show.

A couple of turkey bagels and a :cuppa: for supper, and am now watching the snooker.

If it's the first time since the incident, there's every chance you've just used it too much in one go. Don't think it can only be worse than before. It may never be better than it was, but that doesn't mean it can't be the same as before.

Don't accept that you'll only be worse afterwards. Do that and you will end up worse than before.

The guy today advised my ankle range of motions is restricted by 1/3. The surgeon who did the operation in the first place said I have an 85% chance of developing arthritis, and at best, my bone will be only 80% as strong as it was. It will never be the same as before.

Oh, I forgot to add that I also did some sewing machine stuff, finishing the alterations on the new-to-me white coat for stewarding / judging, and also mending a bra. The latter is new-ish, but some of the stitching wasn't finished properly, and it had started to unravel.

I still need to move the zip on the white coat, but that's for another time. The problem I have is that it's made for someone six to eight inches taller than me, and as it's tailored, the narrowest part of the jacket is across the widest part of me. Moving the zip a bit further to the edge will give me an extra inch.

And no, I can't unpick the seams, as they are already sewn in such a way (with an overlocker) that there's no fabric at all to even let out.
