Got home this afternoon, unpacked the overnight bag, re-stocked it and it's back by the front door ready for Sunday's away day.

I wasn't going to waste the sunshine so out came a bike and off I went for an hour's mixed surface loop into Felixstowe and back - it turns out there's still quite a strong breeze coming in off the North Sea making the going a bit hard work at times. Recuperation took the form of an hour in the deck chair a sunny and wind free part of the garden with the Kindle in one hand and a cold beer by the other. There is also one less ice cream in my freezer.

Storage box emptying revealed a pair of strimmers I thought I had long chucked, both the problematic spool type. One had two which simply meant it jammed twice as often. Then a padded bag emerged on the floor, um strange its taped. Ripped it open to find it was something I had ordered back in 2022 and had eventually received. Seems a postie thought it a good idea to lift the lid as much as they could and drop the original in the storage box, where it disappeared from obvious sight, and not leave a note saying what they had done.

A couple of model kits tucked away for a rainy day which given the way of the weather could be many days away.

Well yes... Previous Venus landers / probes got quickly crushed as they descended through the atmosphere.

Half day at work today.

The good weather continues. I ran a few errands in town on foot and then went for about 45 miles on the bike. Very enjoyable ride, and my cycle computer on my Townsend just turned 10,000 miles since I last changed the battery. A landmark day!
