I take it you're not one of those that gets a new handset every eight months or so!

Nope! The Pixel 3a in 2018 replaced a 2012 Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 mobile that was picked up second-hand.

Up-to-date and modern I am :okay:

Oh, and I've a 'new' phone. It's unused but is from 2023 (Google Pixel 7a) rather than the 2018 version (the 3a) I've had for 7 years that was slowly dying. It's small enough to fit nicely into a cycling jersey rear pocket.

just got a phone for my elderly mother. she used to have one but forgot how to use it. this new (old but refurbished) unit is supposed to be for just photos. so that after I leave from visiting, she can still look at some of the photos I was showing her on mine. I've already preloaded some of her favorite photos. here's hoping she'll remember how

I need not have worried about having such a red physog and being in the Oncology Clinic. Everyone was very sympathetic and said it was very easy to underestimate the strength of the sun, at this time of year, even on an overcast day.

You have my sympathy about your predicament. It reminded me of how my whole head had turned red a couple of years ago. At the time I was treating some pre cancerous cells on top of my balding head. The cream which is applied turns affected areas red. That wouldn't normally be a problem but I caught COVID at the same time and my whole head turned red. I suppose that I was lucky in that I couldn't go anywhere having COVID.

And now I am, and have been for a while!
Hoovering has been hoovered. No Freddie Mercury impressions today 🕺

I've had to sit down from doing the washing up. I think I have over done it. Working on our car over the past few days must have drained my energy. I had forgotten that I was really tired on Monday. I'm no good at pacing. I'm more of a make hay whilst the sun shines.person.
I need to conserve energy today as there is a ride planned for tomorrow.
