Seems like fuel starvation caused the Air India crash according to a preliminary report. Fuel to both engines was cut off. Not an ideal situation!

According to the preliminary report one of the pilots switched the fuel to 'cutoff' then denied doing it, by the time it was switched back on one engine successfully restarted but the other didn't as fast. These big engines take a while to 'spool' back up to speed so no thrust

Morning all, another clear blue start to the day, can already feel the warmth building but at least it’s the weekend so not in an un airconditioned office and I can wear cooler attire.
Went for an end of week after work ride yesterday but cut it short due to the heat :heat:
Time for a cuppa :cuppa:

5 Live had a 737 pilot on this morning who had postponed his takeoff realising the cutoff switches had turned, a faulty locking mechanism. Boeing sent a instruction round to airlines to undertake the fix but it was not mandatory.

Looks like being another hot one :heat:

Out for my perambulation and Saturday breakfast. A rectangular plate today, but it was probably the wrong thing to eat in this heat. I should have ordered a gallon of ice cream.
I'd say it wouldn't be the best thing to eat whatever the weather.

Though the report doesn't say that a pilot switched it off, simply that it had been switched off and a conversation between co-pilot and pilot went ''Why did you switch it off?'' and ''I didn't.'' The radio news report didn't identify which one asked and which one replied. The report has to be impartial.

Good morning from Suffolk where it's a partly cloudy and quite breezy start to the day. Doesn't stop it being a very warm one though.

Coffee has been had to the normal weekend accompaniment of Radcliffe & Maconie on the radio while the washing machine does its thing to the bedding removed yesterday. I think the rest of the day will follow a very similar slow pattern.
