We have friends round tonight, so up early making sure kitchen/bathrooms are spotless. MrsF has now got to tidy up all her sewing shizzle, it's everywhere ! At least it's given her motivation. I'm perched on the edge of the table 'working'.

Offered to pick friends up (so they only need get a taxi home). Only to get a message 'thanks for the offer of a lift, just a head's up 'K' has been diagnosed with prostate cancer'. At least we can get over that shock now and be careful how we handle it. Not sure how soon it's been diagnosed.

He likes his beer and whisky. Seeing as we don't do whisky, I'll get some nice beers in for him.

Come on it's been nearly an hour and no Mundane news, don't tell me we have suddenly gone all serious.

I've strimmed and cut the lawn. I am really happy to report in the last few weeks, we are now two cars less at our household. My son was scrapping one, and selling another. He had four cars here. Now just two. Just about made money back on the scrapped car, and the other made almost 100% profit - bought a 64 plate Leon from a friend with a blown engine (no compression in two cylinders), replaced engine with a low mileage unit, and put the refurbed car up for sale. It's taken a few months to sell, but it finally went yesterday.

It's been a sunny and stupid hot day here chez Casa Reynard.

Sleep was middling at best, dunno why. Had to water all the planters twice today, as stuff was wilting - my tomato plants are now setting fruit like it's going out of fashion.

The squirt of GT85 worked wonders on the stuck lightbulb. It popped out really easily. So went to the garage in the village this afternoon for a replacement. They found a replacement for me in their parts bins, but couldn't find it listed on the computer system, so they said "here you go, no charge." Everything is now operational again on the headlight front. As the garage didn't want any money, I shall buy a tin of biscuits in Tesco and drop it by next week when I go and book my MOT.

Swung by the community orchard on the way home to have a mosey at how things are getting on. It was nice to have a mooch around there, as it's been a while since I last went that way. Also stopped at the book exchange on the way home, and picked up a cookery book dedicated to all things chocolate. I wanted it last week, but it was on the top shelf and I couldn't reach!

I have catalogued all bar two of the backlog of photos. There's only been one I've not been able to pin a date and venue to, which given I had 90 photos, isn't overly bad. I need to transfer a file from the other laptop so that I can catalogue the two remaining items.

Madam has spent much of the day asleep in her favourite cardboard box. She's been fed and medicated, and soon it will be time to feed me. A quiet evening is anticipated.
