Good morning all, wet and windy here, the rain is due to ease but the wind is forecast to peak at 64 mph this afternoon. Today’s Tattoo has been cancelled, apparently for the first time ever.
Good morning from Suffolk where it's another grey sky day with only light winds at the moment. Coffee has been had with a new pack needing to be opened to make something of sufficient volume & strength.
The recycling bin has been emptied and needs to be put back to its normal resting place and that's it for the morning. I'll do my bit as TV repair man for mum & stepfather first thing in the afternoon and combine that with the food shopping for the week. I may even use the car and fill the tank with diesel in advance of a planned outing on Saturday.
Went for a little walk, it was pretty wild at times but no trees down or anything like that, so far. In 6 miles I only saw two other people, the winds must be keeping folk inside. Now that I’m back I think the winds are picking up further.
Touch wood, it feels as if we’re over the worst of it now. Social media is reporting various roads blocked and power outages up north but I’ve not seen anything down here, so far.
That's my good deed done for the day - I don't know what they'd done but the DVD recorder (i told you they were technology numpties) had lost all the TV and radio channels except for Heart FM and I wouldn't wish that on anyone! I had to do a reset just to get the rescan option back on the menu, but at least they can now record all the old B&W films while they're out.
Shopping has also been done and the car filled with enough diesel to get me to Silverstone & back on Saturday, so all I need to do is sort out the entry ticket and that will be done once I've had a cuppa.
