If you were here today, your tent would most likely be stuck up on top of a tree!

It was a tad breezy here but, fortunately, we missed being out in the downpour as we were on a bus at the time 👍

Morning rain gave way to a sunny windy afternoon. WAH lowlight this am was a clown on the phone referring to an email sent "yonks ago" and completely unable to say exactly when.
As the new bird feeder remains untouched emptied it of the sunflower hearts and bit a of the seeds that they demolish every day in it to see if its the feeder they do not like.

Just picked up an order of 300 PG Tips tea bags. This wasn't cheap, but at about one bag per day it's the best part of a year's supply...

Forgot to mention that I also ordered a set of razor blades: I've been pretty extravagant today, all told.

Recovering today after a very long day volunteering at the London-Edinburgh-London Louth control - did 10am-2am on the main desk plus other activities as needed. We saw about 1700 riders though on their way north before the weather hit, halted the event earlier today, and riders have now been asked to return south-wards.

A hospital eye appointment with the consultant this morning and they're monitoring before making a decision on major eye surgery.

It's been a warm, humid, blustery and showery day here chez Casa Reynard.

Sleep was good (went to bed early last night as I was stupid sh*t tired), but woke up this morning still feeling rather meh. I sort of had plans for a quiet day, but that didn't really happen. This morning was vacuumed up, amongst other things, by picking fruit in the garden ahead of the impending gale, and I had to take photos of Madam's titties for the vet.

This afternoon, I went out to drop off some fruit and a slice of home made apple & blackberry pie for a friend - she was in, so had a quick splash-and-dash chat. Stopped off at the community orchard on the way home for a bit of a potter. The plum tree that's yielded all that lovely fruit has been near enough picked clean over the weekend - on Friday, I'd have guessed there was still about 30 kg of fruit left on it. There were still a few ripe fruit clinging doggedly to the branches, so I picked them and ate them!

I also ate a very nice Histon Favourite apple (not quite ripe, but very nice compared to the rather tasteless Gala apples I bought in Tesco, and picked some greengages for the fruit bowl.

Finished making the batch of plum & ginger chutney - had five jars plus a dollop. It will need to mature, but it's sweet-sour, fruity and has some nice oooomph thanks to the ginger and chipotle chillies in it.

Had a bitsas supper of the last of the quiche, some chips made with the last of the tired old potatoes, coleslaw and cous-cous mixed with fried onions, using up the chopped onion that didn't go in the chutney.

Now watching "Fake or Fortune" with a :cuppa:
