Grismal in France. Planned expedition, to the D Day beaches, with Hercules is postponed

Well it was adjourned.

That made sure we got wet on the way home. That special, gentle, persistent rain the finds all the little creases and cracks.

My gloves were never meant to be waterproof and today confirmed that.
My over trousers turned out to have leaky zones around the knees. More disappointing than anything.
My shoes, from Decathlon and cheap, are surprisingly water resistant.
Finally the Komoot route is total rowlocks. No one has cycled the proposed route in years. Ended up pushing bikes along the beach.
Nice lunch in a cafe, PMU, croque and salade With a beer of course.

Spells of heavy rain thankfully avoided during a very elongated break from WAH. Antibiotics ran out this morning and still not entirely resolved so late morning doctors appointment at the local practice where another course of antibiotics was prescribed.
Overdue by a week a blood test so a visit to the town centre practice then to Asda to collect the prescription from the in store pharmacy only to find it shut for lunch
A browsing shop undertaken which covered most of the wait for them to reopen and then a short wait for them to do the prescription.

A distinctly breezy, largely dry and autumnal day here chez Casa Reynard. It only started raining less than an hour ago.

Slept well, but woke up with the trots. Ergo I've had a quiet day doing only the bare necessities - when I haven't been sat on the throne, that is. I also caught up with watching the Sewing Bee, as I missed it last night on account of the football.

Suspect that either a) I picked a bug up at the show on Saturday or b) there was an issue with some of the fruit I ate in the community orchard yesterday.

Just about to sit down to watch the evening news with a :cuppa: and a couple of rice cakes.

The novel is chugging on nicely. Currently working on a scene set in a café called Moira's Tea Shoppe which...

"... occupied a double-fronted red-brick premises at one end of Main Street, sandwiched in between a shoe shop and an optician. The bay windows, with their thick crown glass panes, offered a slightly distorted view of the Georgian assembly rooms opposite, all sugary pink and white Palladian stucco. Or they would have done if they weren’t steamed up by the mud-spattered grupetto of club cyclists, hunched over cappuccinos and bacon sandwiches in brightly-coloured matching jerseys."
