I'll get some snaps of the setup for you tomorrow. The current valve has a knurled knob to turn. That's where the problem seems to be, as when I applied some plumber's tape in a bid to stem the leak, I got a jet of water to the eye. I'm looking at something similar on the screwfix website as a possible replacement.

P.S. What are olives? Other than the green things you put in martinis LOL
Compression Ring in the picture. The "body" would be the valve you'll be replacing.

Right, OK, now I see what you mean.

Need to see if I've a spanner to fit the nuts. If not, money spent on good tools is never wasted.

Any replacement will come with the compression nuts and olives as a complete piece. You can cheat and possibly use the old fittings, replacing just the valve.

And it's time for me to put the writing away and trot off to bed via a nice hot bath.

Nunnight one and all xxx :hello:
