Fresh air and exercise should mean I will sleep well tonight

it's good to have a plan, so you know what's not going to happen

Shopping done under dark grey skies and patches of drizzle - it didn't take long for my morning optimism to be proved wrong. Also quite chilly so I may have to dig out the light fleece gloves I wear under cycling mitts when it gets cold.

Showered, shaved and then sat back on the sofa with the Chromebook catching up with the news while the washing machine dealt with a load of cycling clothing. That's just finished and will go on the clothes horse before I make tea.

I took my Synapse out for a test ride. I kept it short as I didn't want to tire myself out before tomorrow's ride. I did 4.5 miles. I was surprised by how it went. The frame is small but I find it fits well. I thought that I might have to swap the short stem for a longer one but that seems fine as well. As it was only a short ride I only managed to test the high range of gears, I will have to do a longer test another day. It did feel light and smooth though.

DHL delivered in a rather oversized box in which a far smaller box lurked. A new seed feeder inside a big cage to stop a pigeon scoffing too much. Only two feeders so post WAH also put up the one the birds refused to use previously on the basis that when four try to descend on the new one the unfortunate two might just try it.
Message from doctors. Please make a phone call appointment. Clicked on the link and the only option was an in surgery appointment  Phoned them and got a phone appointment.

T'was chaotic at the Hopsital this afternoon, but, I hasten to add, not the fault of the staff. Some patients were early because they had allowed plenty of time for the traffic. Some Doctors were very late because of a serious accident on a major road.

After three injections, I am feeling very wobbley. No hopsital appointments now for nearly four weeks, excluding the telephone conversation booked for later this month.

It's been a grey day here chez Casa Reynard, but nowhere near as miserable as yesterday.

Slept so-so. Spent the morning in the company of a friend and her two dogs, walking around the local nature reserve. Stopped off at the community orchard on the way out and picked some medlars and some Cockett's Red apples. Was hoping for more than I got, but Storm Amy had dumped nearly the whole crop on the ground

This afternoon was taken up by a bunch of erranding. I had intended going out tomorrow, but a change in plans meant that I had to hit Tesco today for groceries and petrol for the car. Picked up coleslaw, bread, dry roasted peanuts and red lentils on yellow sticker.

A lovely supper of leek & potato soup, then Spanish-style chicken casserole with added sweet peppers and chickpeas, and rice.

Now sat watching the Sumo.
