Keeping a close eye on the weather forecast for Sunday to decide whether to take a full waterproof coat or just a showerproof jacket - at the moment it's looking much better than suggested earlier in the week and I may get away with the jacket for the evening walk to and from the venue.
I've also decided to drive to Stowmarket and catch the train from there - it means I can get to Sheffield at the intended time and have a drink at the Sheffield Tap within the station and have a snooze when I get to the hotel. A bit of shopping can also be done at Aldi on the walk back from Stowmarket station to the car when I get back.

Other than that, nothing else of note other than this looks to be the first week this year that my solar setup has failed to generate enough excess electricity to cover my total energy usage and standing charges thanks to the unrelenting cloud cover.

Hot chocolate and the F1 qualifying next (sprint race has been watched)

Been catching up on a bit of shopping today when I noticed my shoe lace had undone.
In the middle of the high street I bent over to tie it up only to hear a large rip from behind.
Yep, great, fantastic!!
My jeans decided to split open exposing my boxers to all..
The worst part of it was that they just didn't split at the seams but the material frayed apart exposing what I could imagine was not a pretty sight .
🥴

I've got a pair like that.
Apparently it's fashionable to wear jeans with holes in them.

Morning.
I'm not sure what the weather is doing as it is dark out but I did see a bit of light sky to the east.
I'm trying to analyse my test ride on my Synapse yesterday. I'm not sure if the dent had blotted out senses but I think I need another ride to check it again. I found the saddle to be very comfortable. I suppose that is one of the first things I noticed. Some saddles can be a right pain in the! The bike seems to fit despite being a small size, I think it is 47cms. According to some size charts up to 5' 9", I'm 5'10" and a bit. I seemed to stay on the hoods most of the time and didn't have to keep swapping my position around the bars so I think that the riding position is fine. I did get up speed on it as I tried to chase down a pair of cyclists I saw in the distance. I closed it down a bit but they seemed to get away from me freewheeling. I couldn't remain in top gear on the big chainring for long, my legs just ran out of juice. I'll put it down to age.
So I quite happy with my synapse, it has answered a couple of my questions about the make, it feels smooth and comfortable to ride, it is now shiny as opposed to being a dull Matt colour. I'll have to take it out on one of my group rides to check it out further.

Good morning from a still grey & gloomy Suffolk. Coffee has been had and a bowl of porridge will be nuked for breakfast in a few minutes.

Today's away day starts in about an hour's time with the drive to Stowmarket, then it's various trains and a bus replacement to Sheffield to see Newdad at The Foundry.
