I don't have a Win11

Make sure you get a plunger, so you're ready, just in case.

A better day than expected weatherwise here chez Casa Reynard. Rain didn't hit till after sunset.

Slept well. A choresy morning was had, and then, seeing that it was actually sunny outside rather than hosing it with rain as was forecast, took myself into the garden with the chainsaw to carry on dealing with firewood. Half an hour saw me fell a dead oak and cut it up - enough for two heaped wheelbarrows.

Lovely luncheon of toast, double gloucester with onions, plus a tangerine, a banana and a :cuppa:

Then back out into the garden to haul in what I cut up. It started drizzling just as I was topping up the wood bins in the house.

Fabby supper of beef, veg & barley soup, then a chicken, cheese & pesto toastie, and apple & quince crumble with custard for afters.

Madam Rhubarb is currently snoozing in the igloo bed by the radiator.

We've apparently got a mains water leak on the pavement/road outside our house. Can't see anything, no damp/soggy gardens. There are about 10 blokes and 4-5 vans outside. Just brought the bins in and he said they were in training, that's why there are so many. They were using long poles with an ear piece to listen for the leak. Oh well, another Christmas with the road dug up outside (it's happened a few times).
They could be cutting the gas here.
Van on site for most of last night whilst they repaired a damaged main. Damaged by someone working on a fibre optic cable. Not as bad as the last time, they'd to cut all three when Virgin hit the jackpot at the opposite end of the street.

The evening's hot chocolate has just been made.

...
I'll give it another half hour.
In the end I gave it an hour and went out in the light drizzle with a cap on to keep some of the wetness off my glasses. Thankfully it turned out to be drier inland as the rain cloud eventually buggered off out to sea. Later on the cap was even needed to keep the weak sunshine out of my eyes. Very little has been done since then other than to cook tea.

Went to the Thursford Crimbo Spectacular last night and bumped into the lad who'd been my banqueting porter 43 years ago - !
And we still recognised each other; but both a bit wrinklier and a lot more grey / white now - !
The lady doing the bar at the family do on Friday was someone I was at school with - she recognised me, but I didn't recognise her at all and had to ask her name!

Guinness are bringing out a 60/40 pint in pubs , 60 zero % then topped up with 40% normal Guinness. Bringing vol down to 1.7% To try and cash in on young people drinking less. They are not the only ones playing around with strength of standard beer range.

I would go for that if it was offered I think. It would have a bit more flavour than the zero, but less alcohol than a normal pint. It's one way of drinking less.

No doubt they'll find a way to charge more for it!

First working day of the week completed without too much drama. Only another four more to go. I have my monthly one to one meeting with the dragon tomorrow morning. I wonder what I've done wrong this month.

Some horrible showers this evening. I thought about going for a ride but didn't.

My new shoe polish has a warning telling me it may be harmful if ingested. Seems everything is bad for you now. I really used to enjoy Cherry Blossom on toast
