There was a dog petting therapy session for staff in the room opposite my student seminar this morning. In the end all control was lost as half the students spent more time petting dogs than in the seminar. It's probably good for their stress levels though as the seminar was focused on their assessment. Which doesn't involve petting dogs.

Once had a group of adult learners one of whom was blind and had guide dog. It was one of the most chilled and stress free class I've had. The presence of a dog just change the whole feel of the room and everyone in it. It was a very interesting few weeks, I'd love to do it all again.

This isn't going to last long once I've had a shower and a coffee, but it was a good excuse for a ride in some lovely sunshine.

Ernie coughed up £75.
Had to go into the office this morning which required a visit to reception as my pass has hidden itself. Then just 4 minutes after leaving an email was sent saying I had a new pass to collect due to changes in door locks.
Once home put a mug of coffe down and started cabling up the laptop only to knock the coffee all over the keyboard. Initially it seemed okay but then started acting weird so put upside down next to the boiler.
Laptop keyboard used with difficulty, has a function activating key where ctrl should be

A bright, sunny and mild day here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept well enough. Did all the usual chores, plus took some bits out of the freezer for tonight's supper. Decided to skip luncheon and do firewood while the weather was good. So cut a load of logs up, and trimmed some smaller lengths for the parental to process. That amounted to four wheelbarrows' worth. I've currently no room for firewood in the garage, so today's efforts were stacked in the log store along the fence.

Did catch a little bit of the snooker whilst downing two slices of toast with marmite and a :cuppa: . Ronnie O'Sullivan lost.

Now been doing food prep for supper. If you'll excuse me, I need to go peel some sprouts...

My Premium Bonds are feeling a little under-appreciated with only a cursory £25. On the other hand, I got a £200 winter heating allowance today. I'd use it if I needed it (and it should be awarded on need, IMO) it but it will only go on charities - National Energy Campaign (done) and the Crisis at Christmas campaign (To do) .

I drove down from Sheffield today and Google Maps offered me a quicker route via the Woolwich Ferry. It's years since I went on that but as there was no queue I was able to drive straight on.

got another mouse in our upstairs crawl space. one night a cpl days ago, while watching TV, w/ a cat in my lap, I heard scrambling in the ceiling. the cat didn't seem to care. so I got this 2nd up there, the 1st was some time ago, cpl months maybe? I'll keep an ear out for more. it was a big healthy one. hate to do it but if it was a preggo, she could have let loose many more, right?

so far the tally is 10, including inside & out. my suspicion is they get in & out at will, & climb inside the walls

I think the big outside rat is gone & there's just 1 smaller rat outside. at least I hope it's outside, hehe
