No it's a post box.
It's an example of Yarn bombing , local groups knit stuff and cover things like top of post boxers or other street furniture. Common at Christmas and around time of Remembrance Day.
A good place to see it is Pickering they have a very active group

no news is good news. I always dread getting my quarterly life insurance premium bill. but until I get it I am happy. now they started texting me in advance that they are mailing it. so now, my sense of dread is back

Not when you have been waiting for something having expected to get it on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Raining heavily was not a good sound when I realised I was out of oranges. However by the time I set off it had lightened so the idea of going to Asda with its covered car park abandoned for Sainsbury's instead. Turned our to be a good choice as a reduced personal price offer on iced buns was for once used as they actually had them in stock.
Ocado meanwhile have refunded three packs of cereals I mistakenly ordered thinking they were free from. Not had any emailed response from them, I assume they want them back.

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
(Extra large) van packed full for son no. 2's move to Brampton tomorrow. And that's not everything - he's leaving several bikes plus other stuff here.

Given the house is already half-furnished from previous visits just how can a 21 year-old accumulate so much?

Working week completed with my usual half day on a Friday. My manager has felt the need to remind us yet again that we cost her her bonus, and she won't be able to buy her daughter whatever it was that she wanted for Christmas. Are we supposed to feel guilty...

The weather was truly awful this afternoon. I did something unusual for me and did some browsing around the shops. I have decided I should buy some new clothes soon as my good shirts aren't really good any more.

The shops have mostly been taken over by the Bah! Humbug season anyway. I see Next have got a new range of what I'd describe as Ronnie Corbett jumpers. xx(

Maybe I should consult Accy on these matters.

Now listening to the Friday night concert on the radio.
