A mixed bag weatherwise here chez Casa Reynard. Hard frost early doors, then the clouds rolled in, and by teatime it was hosing it down and blowing a hoolie.

Slept well enough. Another busy morning chores wise. All the usual, but I also cleared up some unneeded storage crates from the hallway, swept the floor and returned the crates to base - one to the utility room, the remainder to the garage. Also cleared up the temporary litter tray, as Madam is no longer in need of it. That also led to the hand washing of the re-usable puppy pad it was on, and a sweeping of the carpet nearby.

A lovely luncheon of tuna & sweetcorn mayonnaise on toast, plus an apple, a tangerine and a :cuppa:

Topped up all the house wood bins again, and then it was off into town for a spot of shopping. Waitrose drew a blank on what I'd wanted, but I did manage to pick up their freebie newspaper. B&M yielded the cat toys I need for assorted feline gifting and an extra bag of cat litter. I also bought a catnip toy for Madam in the shape of a gherkin with a santa hat on, and managed to find another pair of fleecy jimjams in my size, so I bought those for myself.

Thence to Tesco to do the grocery shop. I hadn't done a full shop for three weeks on account of wanting to run down the contents of the fridge and freezer, so quite a bit was needed. Also some additional comestible gifts were acquired (human, feline and canine). Not a lot to be had on yellow sticker, but I still managed to pick up some posh crusty rolls from the bakery, a large tub of coleslaw and a "finest" continental cheese selection box.

The latter was knocked down to half price, which actually made it decent value, and cheaper per kilo than the individual fancy cheeses. So that's the Christmas cheeseboard sorted - there's a sheep's milk cheese with truffle, a fancy brie, a piece of montagnolo and a nice chunk of gruyere. All I need is some wensleydale with cranberries and I'm good on cheese. Besides, I've stilton in the freezer and there's always decent cheddar knocking around.

A nice supper of soup and a sandwich with the last of the chicken, stuffing and craberry sauce.

Snooker has been watched, and I am sat by the fire in the company of the cat.

who are you seeing?

...Porridge Radio at The Brudenell. This is the penultimate date of their farewell tour before going their separate ways after 10 years, during which I've seen them half a dozen times so I wasn't going to miss this one.
And an excellent evening it was. An hour and a half of their best stuff, Kirkstall brewery's Judicious on draft and the rain mostly holding off for the walk to and from the hotel

One last drink and then I must go to bed.
