Morning.
It looks like we have a clear sky, a pale orange on the horizon fading through beige to a pale blue.
I was looking at the instructions for a Lego set that my son's family bought me for Christmas. It is of a McLaren MP4/4. It was sort of looking interesting until my wife said that I had to start at the beginning and not at the interesting bit.

I took my Pinarello out for a ride yesterday afternoon. I thought I would swap my bikes round. It is my Angliru which I bought cheap because the paintwork has corrosion in places, had lots of paint chips and that the seat post was seized in. Managed to get the seat post round my friend's garage by pouring boiling water on the frame and using brute force.
I wrapped up well for yesterday's ride. If you imagine the Michelin man you won't be far wrong. The ride went well but there were a lot of walky peeps about. On a climb going back home I stayed behind 2 horse riders and let them clear a pathway for me, I was in no hurry, it also gave me a chance to get my breath back.
In the evening I thought I would set about touching in the paint chips with red paint. The way it looked before with white chips all over it looked like it had the Pox. It now looks hell of a lot better! There are a few large areas of corrosion which I will sort out later.

Brisk walk to the shop for papers and ys look , but nothing we needed.

Footpaths very frosty in places but clear in others.

Well, it's the twainth day of Twixtmas, which by my calculations makes it a Saturday. Though it doesn't feel like Saturday. Half the washing up done, 2 sudokus and 2 mugs of tea.

Good morning from a cold and now cloudy & breezy Suffolk. Coffee and the usual slow Saturday morning with the radio have been enjoyed.

This afternoon is the delayed Boxing Day family get together round Mum's, so I'm off out for a walk this morning - probably into Felixstowe as I've just opened the last bottle of orange squash and need to replenish the spares stock. If there's any post Ch****mas chocolate bargains going they may also find their way into the shopping basket.

liquorice is a 1000x sweeter than sugar , Pontefract was the centre of liquorice growing it was surround by fields of the stuff. Sending it all over the world. They use to store the harvested roots deep in the cells of what's left Pontefract castle. Inc a weekly order of a bundle of root to Osborne house as queen Victoria loved it. In Chaplin's film the gold rush the boot he eats is a liquorice one made in Pontefract and shipped over to the US. They made a pair of boot's the other is still in the ownership of the family who owned the factory.

And cakes in Pontefract, or rather Pontefract Cakes, are small round pieces of liquorice.
