Forgot to mention, the milk will be diverted into a couple of baked rice puddings

I can remember that I liked to scrape the sides of my mum's pyrex dish to remove the burnt rice pudding as it tasted nice.

There was a bright red sunrise a few minutes ago, it's now gone to stripes of pastel shades of pink mauve and turquoise.

My wife booked a holiday in Suffolk for later in the year. It will be the 2nd year in a row that Bournemouth is going to miss out since cancelling their air festival. We used to go every year for years. Similarly Bath won't get any visits apart from hospital appointments due to their lack of Christmas lights. If they can't be bothered why should we.

Later start this morning and a different start to New Year’s Day. My normal cooked breckfest is off this year. My unwanted guest won’t let me. So a few rounds of nice buttered toast has been had.

Happy new year.
Currently very quiet.
Sainsbury's shopped. Stacks of mince pies but dearer than Aldi. Did buy a pack of tiffin reduced by 75% and as all the excessive amount of salmon has decreased unsmoked mackerel fillets were back on the shelves. The self scanner saved me £5.20 as a pack of mugs claiming to be reduced were not and promptly returned to the shelf.

A belated good morning and a Happy New Year to all Mundaners. It's a light grey and chilly start to 2026 with most of last night's heavy frost having melted away. A large and strong mug of coffee has been had, although not necessary due to not overdoing things.

Last night was a very quiet one watching stuff on TV and I didn't even notice any fireworks due to having headphones on. Today should be another quiet one as I don't currently have any plans to go anywhere or do anything.

Twix coffees an unnecessary today Co-op trek as the paths might be a touch slippy tomorrow. Aldi price chicken breasts, orange label sconces and app voucher reduced TV guide acquired. Bird muck on the car to clean off and think the ebikes battery brst be brought indoors. Trellis is falling off the fence and as its top wire has virtually completely broken will see if it can be turned upside down.

father in law asleep he has only been up since 09-30.he is sleeping a lot more during the day.Mind you he is 95 and nine days.
